Overview

Here at last is a dynamite, short and powerful weight loss book. Consider this important fact: there is an abundance of research showing that the vegetarian diet leads to significant, life changing weight loss. We show you how and why our plan works, how to reach your weight loss goal fast and with far less effort than a regular ‘diet’ . We guarantee it!
Important and arresting information packs the pages of our inspiring book.
We first examine the health science of the vegetarian diet, familiarizing you with the science of health and weight loss. This section draws upon the hundreds of scientific studies and journal articles supporting the health claims of plant based diets and most of the time we illustrate points with meta-studies.
Next, we teach you how to make this dietary transition and why this simple but significant change leads to weight loss. Here we cover the process of first eliminating meat from the diet, then as much diary, cheese, and butter as possible, all the while adding low calorie, nutritiously dense fruits, and vegetables.
We then offer the seven best weight loss tips—ones scientifically proven to work. Any one of these powerful tools leads to significant weight loss and used with a plant based diet as outlined in The Vegetarian Weight Loss Plan, pounds could begin melting away too fast! You can change your life, starting right now.
We also explore the astonishing and little known facts of vegetarian nutrition. Questions about proteins, calcium, iron, the B vitamins as well as all other nutritional needs are covered. Our energizing, nutritional rich plan not only pushes you into a weight loss rush, but it energizes you! Many people find an almost magical mood lifting quality to our plan.
Finally, the last three chapters offer up the less well-known benefits of a plant based diet for those who haven’t explored this powerfully motivating aspect of a plant based diet: the environmental benefits, a brief exploration of the animal welfare issues and the religious/spiritual aspects of vegetarianism. Inspiring quotes from famous vegetarians litter the text.

This short, wonderful book changed my life. It has been six weeks and I have lost q6 pounds. It tells you everything you need to know to lose weight. And this time, I think I can keep it off for good. I highly recommend it.

Don't bother wasting your money on this. Spend your money on "Vegetarian for Dummies". It has more information, nice shopping lists and recipes.

THE PROS Good basic knowledge for people are starting out in vegetarianism. Good info on food choices, vitamins, exercise choices, etc. For a starter book, this is fine. THE CONS As a vegetarian for 15 years, I downloaded this book to drop a few pounds. It wasn't meant really for existing vegetarians. No new knowledge if you're already living the lifestyle. From a technical standpoint, it only downloaded up to 47 pages (out of 82 in medium font). I've never had this issue with any other downloaded books, so it must be a glitch with the Nook version of the book. There were also some fonts that didn't translate, nor did the charts. ** With all that said, I like that the authors are trying to spread the message of good nutrition without harming animals. There are also tips on how to succeed. And hopefully, BN and/or the Publisher will be able to fix the technical glitches so future buyers will have the full download.
