Robin Quivers’s New York Times–bestselling vegan cookbook, filled with more than ninety recipes

Known for her levelheaded, deadpan comebacks to Howard Stern’s often outrageous banter, Robin Quivers is a force of nature. Yet few people know about her struggles with food—especially the high-fat, high-sugar, high-cholesterol, highly addictive foods that doomed many of her relatives to obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Sick and tired of being sick and tired, she knew it was time to stop her slow slide into bad health. Quivers took a stand in her personal nutrition battle and emerged victorious thanks to a plant-based diet.

On her sometimes rocky, though endearingly hysterical, path to newfound health, Quivers discovered the power of the produce aisle in changing her body and her mindset. By filling up on soul-quenching, cell-loving vegetables instead of damaging animal products and processed foods, Quivers left behind the injuries, aches, and pains that had plagued her for twenty years. Charting her inspiring road to wellness, The Vegucation of Robin describes her transformation inside and out, and, including ninety of her favorite vegan recipes, she encourages readers to join her in putting their health first.

With her signature humor and wit, Quivers builds an undeniable case that the key to living the life you’ve always wanted lies not with your doctor but in your refrigerator. Putting a new face on the pro-veggie movement, Quivers will dazzle readers who want to look good, feel good, and have fun doing it.

Library Journal
Radio personality Quivers, Howard Stern's longtime cohost, was a serial Master Cleanse detoxer before she adopted a vegan diet. Her routine was to cleanse for 21 days, eat whatever she wanted for a while, then return to the Master Cleanse detox. She eventually discovered that the solution to her health woes lay in adhering to a vegan lifestyle that made her feel great. While much of the first half of the book is anecdotal, Quivers details the health problems connected with consuming meat, processed foods, and sugar, and she includes a healthy dose of skepticism of physicians and prescription medication. Encouraging readers to start their "vegucation" with a detox followed by an all plant-based diet, she offers recipes in the latter half of the book that focus on vegetables, soups, salads, grains, and sweets. Unfortunately, recipes don't include nutrient analyses. VERDICT Conversational and funny, this book may inspire fans to try a juice fast or a vegan diet. The recipes feature fresh produce and aren't loaded with tofu or meat-substitute products, which may appeal to readers who might be turned off from veganism by unfamiliar ingredients.—Pauline Baughman, Multnomah Cty. The person who left that horrible, horrendous comment about Robin getting cancer and being vegan didn't help her. Well Linda McCarthy was a vegan and she died of cancer. Shut up when you don't know what you are talking about. Until you get cancer, then talk. The vegan way of eating has nothing to do with getting cancer. She was sick before, well before she became a vegan. And if she wants to keep her medical business private fool, it's called HIPAA, look it up. So don't read her book and go eat a hamburger and die.

Wooow! Now I know who you are; I just put it together. Youre a speakeasy hardworker on the howard stern show. You sound like ur in my family. I must learn how and share you with my daughter and sisters, and nieces. and your locks are great. also. From a technology challenged Black woman disabled veteran.

I guess the "healthy" being talked about in this book, is the same kinda "healthy" that my grandfather meant when I'd hear him say "Boy, look at that one, she's a healthy gal". Those gals were always quite plump. If you are looking for the kind of healthy that means being fit and at a proper weight, you'll need to look for a different book.

I am aghast that someone with as many health issues as this woman would have the audacity to write a book like this. Eating is definitely an issue for her as one can see by her cover photo and recent press releases...just because she went vegan doesn't mean she isn't (obviously) overeating on some other form of food (sugar and carbs?). Being vegan didn't make the difference for her with her cancer battle...being treated by the best Western doctors and medicines did. If only Ms.Quivers would publicly acknowledge this instead of proclaiming her vegan diet as the reason she got well, then I would find her to be an honest broker in peddling this book. Shame on you Robin for denying for months anything was wrong with you only to emerge from your luxury apartment to divulge the truth behind your isolation in order to sell this lie.

It did not make sense. how does a fat egotist write a health book?
