Meet the Author

Marissa Farrar is a multi-published fantasy and horror author. She was born in Devon, England, has travelled all over the world, and has lived in both Australia and Spain. She now resides in the countryside with her husband, two children, a crazy Spanish dog, two rescue cats and six hens and ten goldfish. Despite returning to England, she daydreams of one day being able to split her time between her home country and the balmy, white sandy beaches of Spain.Even though she’s been writing stories since she was small and held dreams of being a writer, her initial life plan went a different way.In her youth, inspired by James Herriot, she decided to become a vet, and would regularly bring home new pets to her weary parents. Upon discovering her exams were never going to get her into a veterinary degree, she ended up studying Zoology. Once she completed her degree and realised she’d spent the majority trying to find time to write, she decided to follow her dream of being an author. Seven years later, she was published and two years after that she was able to say goodbye to the day job. However, she’s continued to collect animals!Marissa is the author of four novels, including the dark vampire ‘Serenity’ series. Her fifth novel, Underlife, a dark fantasy set beneath the streets of London, will be published August 2012.Her short stories have been accepted for a number of anthologies including, Their Dark Masters, Red Skies Press, Masters of Horror: Damned If You Don’t, Triskaideka Books; and 2013: The Aftermath, Pill Hill Press. If you want to know more about Marissa, then please visit her website at marissa-farrar.blogspot.com. Good start, but....

I must admit this really disappointed me too, once I got to the end of Vengeful Vampire and learned that that was it, I closed the book. I did not even read Alone, why bother, it would be just a tease! Marissa Farrar is a very good author, but as said before, the books details did not say it was a teaser!! Now I will Alone, the complete novel because the series sounds awesome

    I Also Recommend:

    A decent short

This is a short story which acts as a preview for the novel, Alone. I've already read Alone so I really enjoyed finding out exactly what happened to one of the main characters, Sebastian, as a human. It's only short and I would have loved for there to be more. Considering it was free I can't complain!
A decent introduction to the series!

    Very disppointing

This is not an entire book, it's more like the preface to one. Then you get the first 10 chapter of the actual book. I feel betrayed when the write up of a book doesn't say it's just a few chapters. This really turns me off to the author.

    Good...

I am glad I read this before reading book one. I hope the series is as well written as this short story.
