We are a family of avid readers. Recently, I was assisting my younger sister with identifying her next book to read this summer. My girlfriend suggested this book that her sister had just read. My sister said that "This was the best book that she has read in a long time because it was funny and that she really was able to relate to the characters Hannah and August." This is the first time that I was given a positive comment from my thirteen year old sister. I am now reading it and I agree.

A great, quick read for a young person. The story takes you on a ride as the main character learns and uncovers the web of deceit her family has spun. Honesty is one of the core values we should be taught at home. It's always interesting - you use up so much energy to cover the lie, when it's just easier to tell the truth from the beginning....
Overall, read the book :-)

To Whom It May Concern, I just recently read a paperback book (PublishAmerica), "The Veridical Circle," by Denise Donna Johnson. It is simply refreshing! I wanted a book that was light, not too much drama, and did not involve any highstakes names or companies. I searched among the teen books and discovered this gem. It is a mystery novel through the eyes of an eleven year old girl, Hannah. The novel unravels the complex workings of a close-knit family in Hearth, North Carolina and their discovery of the neverending value of honesty. It is a short book which kept me turning the pages until the end. It stirs up thoughts of my own family members and my relationships with each of them. It made me recall my personal desire...that I want and need unconditional love and honesty;in turn, it is what I have to offer. Sincerely, HermaniajWas this review helpful?
