All Music Guide - Cub Koda

This two-disc, 45-track anthology collects all the highlights from that magnificent run. Every chart entry from 1950 to 1956 is here in pristine sound from the RCA Victor masters and topped off with a mid-charter stray that Fisher cut for the same label ten years after his time in the sun was a thing of the past. Excellent liner notes from Colin Escott along with this deluxe package ...

    First a Singer!

Some day, probably long after Eddie Fisher and many of the rest of us have passed on, the world will have forgotten about the drugs, the divorces and all the other background noise that obscured his career and made him known as a singer only secondarily. People will tire of the brain-numbing foreground noise that tortures our senses and they will seek out beautiful sounds again. When they do, Eddie Fisher's music will be loved again and he will become known first and foremost as a singer. His was the BEST pop music voice of his time. I keep coming back to them, because they keep amazing me--not the silly songs, but the beautiful ones with the beautiful lyrics, the beautiful arrangements, and that beautiful voice--the best of the baritones! Thanks, Eddie.

    Eddie stars again!!

I've always been a fan of Eddie Fisher, having collected some of his singles on 45's when I was a kid. On a whim, I decided to order all of them on this double CD and was astounded all over again. His voice, in my opinion, was the best of all the male pop singers, before or since, bar none. You can talk about Sinatra et al, but they never held a candle to the fabulous voice of Eddie Fisher, who sings every song magnificently. When I tire of the lack of quality on the radio, Eddie Fisher provides a sparkling and nostalgic change on my drives back and forth to work. Buy it. You won't be disappointed.
