1. i don't cook 2. i often need easy, unique presents to give clients, family, and friends. this book makes both of those points easy. i've found numerous recipes that even as a novice cook i can do! it's so much better to make the quick appetizers for parties and have them come out delicious than just unfreezing some frozen bits of food. the info about local historical sites make it a great gift for ppl who don't know the area yet/who just moved here/who are always looking for gifts unique to a town! i highly recommend this as the holidays approach. plus knowing that 100% of the proceeds go back to community makes me feel great!
The Virginia Hostess is a great cookbook and hostess guide! Not only is it beautiful and educational, it is practical too! Chapters have themes and menu formats, so it makes it easy to be a great hostess and chef! A wine selection guide helps even the most novice hostess seem like an old pro! The proceeds from this cookbook go to community projects. I like knowing that I helped contribute to this organization's worthy goals.
