    This book gives great insight on how to take management best practices and make them work for employees you don't see in-person every day. So many people are working from home nowadays that the old rules for managing people are outdated. Employees want more freedom, but managers still need to make sure they are doing a good job. This book shows people how companies can have the best of both worlds.

    A great resource for the virtual workforce!

    The Virtual Manager is a fantastic handbook not only for those who manage virtual employees, but for virtual employees themselves. By organizing key findings from numerous credible sources on the topic, exploring how Engagement plays into these aspects, and tying in years of experience, Kevin Sheridan offers a condensed yet straightforward guide for a new generation of virtual managers and workers.

    Online networking, video conferencing, file sharing, collaborative work websites, email and other technological advances now enable employees to work from remote locations instead of commuting to offices where supervisors await. Human resources expert Kevin Sheridan details numerous best practices for managing remote, virtual employees. Most of his ideas reflect his deep expertise and prove sensible and actionable. getAbstract recommends many of Sheridan’s concepts and his approach to managing virtual workers. Distance is tough on any relationship, especially managing or working for people you rarely see. This makes it easier.
