Overview

In this audio version of the fourth book in the popular series, don Miguel Ruiz reminds readers of a profound yet simple truth: The only way to end emotional suffering and restore joy in living is to stop believing in lies - mainly about ourselves. Ruiz refers to the forbidden tree of knowledge, likening the abandonment of the true self to the fall from heaven. This fall, he says, occurred because of the loss of "the impeccability of the word," that simple yet potent prescription for countering the judgmental inner "Voice of Knowledge." Adhering to "the word" - saying only what one means, refusing to speak against one's self - allows anyone to quiet those inner tyrannical thoughts so that we can become aware of our Voice of Integrity. Knowledge then becomes an ally, and life becomes an expression of the authentic self.

Meet the Author

Don Miguel Ruiz is the international bestselling author of The Four Agreements (a New York Times bestseller for over seven years), The Mastery of Love, The Voice of Knowledge, Prayers, and The Fifth Agreement.

Born into a family of healers in rural Mexico, Ruiz was expected to carry forward his family’s centuries-old legacy of healing and teaching. Instead, distracted by modern life, he chose to attend medical school and become a surgeon. Late in the 1970s, a near-death experience changed his life. Ruiz decided to devote himself to mastering the wisdom of the ancient Toltec, and to this day, he continues to share this wisdom in lectures and journeys to sacred sites around the world.

The teachings of don Miguel Ruiz are best known for transforming complex human issues into simple common sense — a talent that has earned him millions of fans, international acclaim, and a vote of approval from Oprah Winfrey. Sales of his Toltec Wisdom Series have soared to nearly 8 million copies in the United States alone, and have been translated into more than 38 languages worldwide.

Janet Mills is the founder and publisher of Amber-Allen Publishing. She is the editor and coauthor of the Toltec Wisdom Series by don Miguel Ruiz, and the editor of Deepak Chopra’s international bestselling title The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. Her life’s mission is to publish books of enduring beauty, integrity, and wisdom, and to inspire others to fulfill their most cherished dreams.

Rethink How You View and Handle Your Life

Once again, DonMiguel has captured the essence of what keeps us stuck in unhealthy patterns and how to eliminate them and live authentically. His simple and direct style communicate to the reader how to uncover the beliefs that have held us hostage, and how to release them and forge new beliefs that enhance rather than limit our lives.
This book is a must read for anyone looking to make the positive changes in their life but aren't quite sure how to go about it. The book is thought provoking and engaging. The Voice of Knowledge inspires hope and the awareness that you are capable of making changes in your life if you are ready to let go of your old beliefs and limitations. Read on... it's worth reading multiple times because something new seems to be uncovered each time. Don Miguel's messages resonate on a very deep level.

    Not a bad concept...

This book is clearly written with very simple points to understand. I expected a little more though, but I definitely was not disappointed. The author offers up many useful ideas in a non-complicated way. It almost seems like common sense. I plan on reading his other book, "The Four Agreements" in the near future.

    Beautiful and Practical

This book is very much a practical parallel to, A New Earth, by Eckhart Tolle and more. It refers to the voice of knowledge (or ego), awareness, the present moment and forgiveness. It is so lovely to read. It is so useful and practical as well. I feel the author strives to make these traditions understandable and usable. Beautiful!!!

You can't judge a book by only reading part of it

This book made a lot of sense to me. It is not pushing religion, but it teaches you how to accomplish what many religions have been trying to accomplish for centuries. I love this book and highly recommend it. It applies weather you are religious or not.

Great Book to Make You ReThink How You Are

This author is great at bringing your attention to the way that you unconsciously process and interact with the world. This book uses straightforward language and great stories to show how the way you have been socialized and the mass culture influences how you view things. Shows how to be free and authentic again. Highly recommended!

I took this everywhere with me.

I introduced people to this book just by holding it. I couldn't put it down. We have to learn how to forgive in order to release the emotional poison and this book shows you how as well as many other things. Healing allows us to heal our minds and hearts and who does not want this. Heal ourselves to heal the world!!!

How Mr. Miguel tell everything step by step, how he makes people view and handle our life.
I love how he talked about  wanting to impress his Grandfather and how he was blind do to the imperfection of
humans because we are so wrong, so naive to understand something WE ARE PERFECT.

    BREATHTAKING

Words can't even explain how I felt after reading this book. It's amazing how the TRUTH has been within us and we've all became blind to it for all these years. This book taught me alot of things and also taught me to how to forgive myself and others. And that's been something that's been difficult for me to do all these years. THANK YOU FOR OPENING MY EYES, HEART, AND SPIRIT!

    Some weirdos mublings

I didn't even bother finishing the book. The whole thing was kind of silly and didn't really make any sense. Not to mention christian religion being shoved down your throat every other sentence. Waste of paper.
