Have Vulvodynia? You absolutely need this book!

As a vulvodynia sufferer for nearly 16 years, I highly recommend this excellent book. The authors give current, objective information on the varieties of treatments available, thus enabling a woman to make educated decisions in her pursuit for relief from this debilitating, chronic pain condition that some experts estimate affects 25% or more women. The book also gives helpful self-help suggestions and includes a chapter on pain-free sexual intimacy since this disease makes intercourse painful if not impossible. Vulvodynia is a serious, debilitating disease that is under-recognized. A large number of doctors either don't know what it is or how to effectively treat it and often ply their patients with ineffective creams, pills and treatments that often make their condition worse. While other diseases may kill you or disable you in ways visible to others, this one attacks you in the most personal part of your body and invades your most private moments. Some women have intermittent pain while others cannot walk or wear clothing without excruciating pain. I'm nearly 36 years old. (Yes, I've had this since I was 19.) My hope is that I can enjoy a pain free existence at some point in my lifetime. This book is a huge step in that direction. If you have vulvodynia, or know someone who does, you absolutely have to read this book!
