    A remarkable book

    I first encountered this book in a doctor's waiting room, and over many years, I've probably bought 20 copies of this book and given them away to friends.

    The Wall deals with isolation that people often self-impose and how it ends up causing more pain than it was intended to protect them from. It is an illustrated story of a woman's struggle to find safety in a world that is unpredictable and unsupportive and who, when she has constructed her protections (her walls) all around her, is so isolated and alone that she falls into despair and finally calls out to God who gently helps her over time to dismantle her walls and come back into the world again.

    I've done reading about this book and have found that it is used in therapy situations for survivors of abuse and in prison settings as well. We have added several copies to our church library.

    I consider this book an important book for anyone dealing with despair, isolation, grief and spiritual disconnection. It's a quick read (perhaps 20 minutes) but is quite moving, especially to people involved in these kinds of struggles.

    I recommend it without reservation.

    Awesome!!

    The Wall: A parable by Gloria J. Evans is one of the best books that a person could ever read. The book opened my eyes and will help do the same for anyone else that is willing to read this book and take the time to think about what is being said.

    Remarkable and outstanding

    For any professional working in the area of treating addictions this book is outstanding. Especially when doing Intensive Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Treatment.

    Thoughtprovoking, short and to the point.

    This book is for anyone who has every felt alone, and I cannot believe you haven't. Read this for a bit of insight. This is not a long winded, hard to read, mind boggling story. Very easy to read, a first grader could get through it. Yet it is one of the best I have read and reread. I have passed it on to many.
