    Hell, give it six stars

Visually coordinated timelines provide a wealth of incite into corellations. Additionally, the on going access that a wall chart offers keeps one intellectually engaged. Add reasonable accuracy and you have six star (over the top)material. I don't have one, but I want one. I will be back.

    Finally! An accurate view....

Wonderful book and a must for anyone interested in factual history, as opposed to myths and erroneous theories. Easy to read, a great teaching tool.

    Fundamentalist Christian, Eurocentric and Incomplete

This wall chart is probably only attractive to a fundamentalist Christian and only one who is highly Euro-centric as well. The chart begins with Adam and Eve which is not generally considered the start of human history. Then the top third of the chart consists of the 'history' of the books of the Bible and doesn't even really reflect the latest thinking on that. The middle of the chart deals with those countries that were considered important during the Imperialist time of the last century and ignores the 'lesser races.' Down at the bottom of the chart is a tiny little timeline that has a little bit about China. India, Thailand and most of the other major world civilizations that have constituted the majority of the world's population and created the bulk of our history are barely mentioned or not even mentioned at all. The main value of this chart is to show how narrow and benighted we used to be.

    Gives a good perspective

One of my favorite world history books. The timeline presentation gives an excellent perspective of dates and events. This book gives history a third dimension that is missing in most history texts. It is very enlightening and I find that I usually read much further than the information that I orginally sought to find.

Finally an accurate world history book

I was impressed with the fact that the book begins 'In the beginning' at the creation of Adam and Eve by the Lord God. This was a refreshing book that I have given as a gift and can be used in Sunday school classes. I applaud the authors and publishers for publishing this book. It is a great opportunity for other to learn the true history of our earth. God bless.

    imperfect but excellent historical reference

This book focuses primarily on the political divisions of Europe and Asia -- which makes sense, considering that doings outside of them were considered to be of relatively little historical import at the time of its compilation. However, I've not yet found nearly so much relatively disparate information distilled into a single publication. I finally have an understanding of how the various empires formed and resplintered -- something I should have learned in my high school world history course but was never taught. And the data of European ruling dynasties has aided my research of their genealogies. The key to this book's value is its visual representation of the data that it contains -- it quickly conveys historical information that would otherwise have to be digested in many hours of reading. It's a summary of our world's history, so it should be used as a supplement to other historical information sources. If no other book similar to and as informative as this one exists, then it's a must-have for all who study our world's history.

    Great Tool for Homeschoolers

This book begins with Adam and Eve and goes through the 20th Century. This is a wonderful visual tool for homeschoolers and anyone interested in world history. The names and dates can be used as a reference to do further studies, it is laid out in such a way that you can see what was going on in the world at the same time of the disciples, it has categories for inventions, wars, presidents, and much much more. An invaluable tool for home educators. It lists all the people in the Bible which is hard to find in a timeline.

'Timeline of Western Civilization' is more like it.

Despite the title, this timeline offers little or nothing on the history of Africa, Pre-Columbian America and much of Asia. I hope that someday it will be 'revised' again and include a history of the entire world.

Best timeline source for events in the known past

I have purchased close to two dozen copies of this book for friends and customers after they reviewed my copy. Most are interested in the tie to biblical history. I am really sorry to see it is no longer available. I WANTED SIX MORE COPIES ON HAND.

What a great tool for visual learners

My son brought it home on loan from his Sunday school teacher. We will be purchasing one for our family as a result. Wonderful to put events of history in an easy to see order. Sparked a lot of interest in history for our 3 kids!

A Must-Have For any Bible Teacher.

This book has been a vital tool in my bible survery classes. The fold-out format makes it quite easy to spread out across a table top or on the floor for everyone to gather around. There have been many 'ah-hah's' among my students as they have put the fragments of their history and bible background together for the first time to see how the two relate. I could not be without it. Also makes great gifts for students and teachers alike.
