Emma Carter has been in love with Max Cannon since high school, but he barely knew she existed. Now she runs her own unique curio shop, and she’s finally come out her shell and into her own.

When Max returns to his small home town to take up his duties as the Halle Pride’s Alpha, he finds that shy little Emma has grown up. That small spark of something he’d always felt around the teenager has blossomed into something more—his mate!

Taking her “out for a bite” ensures that the luscious Emma will be permanently his.

But Max’s ex has plans of her own. Plans that don’t include Emma being around to interfere. To keep her Alpha, Emma must prove to the Pride that she has what it takes to be Max’s mate.

    blah

not bad, but not really good, either. it's that odd length - 100 pgs - that makes it too short to tell a good story. honestly, it's a shining example of what is wrong with Urban Fantasy books. the were-pumas (the only reason this caught my eye, btw) are a just an excuse to write another sex book. synopsis: strong, independant dumpy female catches the eye of the hottest man in town who happens to decide after hearing her voice on the phone that she is his mate. fifteen minutes later, they're married and he's turned her into a puma without her knowledge. seriously, is that what femals are supposed to fantasize about? because i just don't get it.

    Short but good

I've read the first 2 books in the True Destiny series and really enjoyed them. If I had read this book first I might not have read any others. It was too short to develope the characters properly but it wasn't bad. I still plan on getting the next one in this series because I'm hoping that the stories get longer and better as they go along. For the price I don't think it was a waste of time or money.

    ok book

the story was good, but it was way too short. only about 80 pages long. But that aside, it is an interesting read.

    Not worth the Money

You get less than 74 pages of content. The characters just automatically accept that there are pumas in their town, and the character that you are supposed to care about isn't even upset when life altering decisions are taken out of her hand.

I honestly did not grow to care or hate any of the characters. It was very caveman-esque with the men giving orders and the like.

NOT AT POTENTIAL BUT NOT TERRIBLE....

I was actually just looking for different writers for the paranormal/shifter genre and ran into the Halle Puma series. I am glad that I did. This was not a hard read and did not have a complicated plot by any means but you could tell the author tried and I think successfully followed her plot line. She could have developed the characters more. Emma was way more accepting of what happened to her than most people probably would have been. But it was a good story and the second book in series was a stronger book. More plot...better character development.

    Fun read

This was a really enjoyable story. The characters were entertaining, and while I wished it were a bit longer, I really liked it. Recommended.

Good if you are looking for a quick easy read.

I thought it was a good book, but way too short. When you like the charachters, you want the book to have some depth and last longer.

    too short

it was a good storyline but it was not well developed. there was no history of puma not much interaction between pumas. i felt if it was longer i would have enjoyed the characters more. do not know if i will read more in this series.

    Loved it!

I truly loved this all series because she puts humor and romance with action/suspense all in such a short story but you don't feel like you are missing anything. I agree that it did seem a little odd that the decision of the mating was basically taken out of Emma's hands by Max but it doesn't ruin the story in any way. I recommend the whole series!
