The novel's first appearance in hardcover was in 1898 from publisher William Heinemann of London. Written between 1895 and 1897, it is one of the earliest stories that detail a conflict between mankind and an extraterrestrial race. The novel is the first-person narrative of both an unnamed protagonist in Surrey and of his younger brother in London as southern England is invaded by Martians.

I love science fiction and this is, by far, the best version that I have run across. It is worth every penny to get it. It is formatted very nicely and reads so well on my nook color. I recommend you buy this book today.

This+book+is+not+only+good+sci-fi%2C+but+also+a+good+moral.%0AMore+important+in+those+days+off+conquest%2C+is+the+fact+that+a+race+which+considers+itself+%22superior%22+should+not+eradicate+another+race+which+they+feel+to+be+%22inferior%22%2C+because+they+wouldn%27t+like+that+to+happen+to+themselves.+Also%2C+there+is+the+moral+of+the+will+to+live.+So+I+recomend+this+book+to+anyone.+5+stars%21
