Meet the Author

Margaret Mallory abandoned a career as a lawyer to become a romance novelist. Why this surprised everyone, she doesn't know. Who wouldn't rather have thrilling adventures with handsome Highlanders than write briefs and memos? Margaret lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband, a goofy dog, and a crabby cat. With her children off to college, she spends most of her time working on her next book in The Return of the Highlanders series. Margaret loves to hear from readers.

Better than the sinner and the guardian!

This is even better than the previous 2 books of the series, the sinner and the guardian which i absolutely love. The author is picking up the pace as the whole series gets to a close. Now i cant wait for the last book, the chieftain.

Wow. I was drawn to the emotions of this story from the opening line. No, that's not quite right. Spellbound might be a better choice of word. I couldn't let go of this story or its characters. Ms. Mallory really knows how to show the strong emotion between her characters. And it's not just Duncan and Moira (although what a bond those two have). It's the secondary characters, too. Niall, Ilysa, Ragnall, Sar - I want to hear even more about them and the others. With each story in this series, I get more and more amazed at the depth of the world the author has created. It's rich with history and conflict. I believe there's one more story after this...The Chieftain. I hope there will be more beyond. I'm not ready to be done with the MacDonald clan or the Isle of Skye yet.
