Father Jonathan Morris, Fox News religion analyst, bestselling author, and parish priest, has seen firsthand how easily our day-to-day lives are consumed with anxiety and stress as we focus on our failures and troubles, while peace feels unattainable. When he re-discovered the Serenity Prayer, he realized that this little prayer can be, in fact, a powerful roadmap for our spiritual journey toward God. As he began to share this prayer with others, he saw that living these simple lines became a source of profound peace and happiness:
Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
For years a mainstay of recovery programs, this prayer has proven it can change lives. What's more, through it we all can find comfort and support, including an active collaboration with God's grace as he works alongside us to grant the serenity we seek. Unpacking the prayer phrase by phrase, Father Jonathan shows how we can gain a deeper spiritual understanding by practicing its message. Through powerful personal stories, illuminating historical anecdotes, and biblical passages that show us God's plan for our lives, The Way of Serenity will help us grow closer to God and find serenity, regardless of our circumstances.
Join Father Jonathan and the many others who have made this prayer an integral part of their lives, and find lasting peace and happiness today.
Morris (The Promise; God Wants You Happy), a Catholic priest, has become known for his "Father Knows Best" segment on Fox News as well as being director of the Catholic Channel on Sirius XM Satellite Radio. His latest book is a series of reflections on the so-called Serenity Prayer ("Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change…"). In this work, chapters are rather loosely tethered to the words of the prayer and the ideas implicit in them, but the broad message is consistent—Morris commends acceptance even without certainties, perspective, and calm. VERDICT Morris's treatment of this very popular prayer reaches well across doctrinal and denominational divides; his book should have wide appeal to individuals, groups, and pastors.

By far the best book he's written and I have them all. I highly recommend this book to anyone struggling with finding their own inner peace and happiness in the midst of chaos called life. It really has made me a more peaceful individual and I refer back to certain chapters whenever I'm feeling tense/stressed and I just love the prayers he has at the end of each chapter! This book is a must read. I'd also recommend When God Stopped Keeping Score.
I am on the last chapter today. This book is thought provoking and helpful on so many levels. I will be returning to reread many of of my highlighted sections and try to capture my thoughts in my own words. I just gave this book to a friend who lost her husband to cancer last week. She held onto it as if it was her personal lifeline. Thank you for offering this book and to the author for writing it.
This is an excellent Book. It made my day. It is written to meet the Challenges of the Day.
This book was a phenomenal read. I had seen an interview with it's author on EWTN and had to buy it and read it right away. Fr. Morris' book is one I'll read again and again. It is tremendous Lenten reading and I'm recommending it to others.
Fantastic Book, Highly Recommend. I enjoyed reading this book, very insightful and inspiring.
