Overview

FOX News religion analyst, program director of the Catholic Channel on SiriusXM radio, and bestselling author Father Jonathan Morris reveals how the Serenity Prayer offers a sure path to peace and fulfillment for everyone, not just those in recovery programs. The Serenity Prayer states:

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

Exploring the prayer phrase by phrase, Morris shows the hope that can be found by gaining a deeper spiritual understanding of its words and by practicing its message. Enlightening and profound, The Way of Serenity includes moving narratives, illuminating historical anecdotes, and pertinent biblical passages that demonstrate the power of the Serenity Prayer to help us grow closer to God and find greater peace and happiness.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"For believers, The Way of Serenity provides a roadmap to peace. For non-believers, Father Morris provides a deep incentive to consider the other side." —Bill O'Reilly, Fox News

“Jonathan Morris is an unusual priest, not just because he’s become the celebrity go-to priest for Fox News… and because The Way of Serenity will debut on The New York Times bestseller list. He’s unusual because so many priests’ sermons ignore what’s happening in the world.”

Library Journal
12/01/2014
Morris (The Promise; God Wants You Happy), a Catholic priest, has become known for his "Father Knows Best" segment on Fox News as well as being director of the Catholic Channel on Sirius XM Satellite Radio. His latest book is a series of reflections on the so-called Serenity Prayer ("Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change…"). In this work, chapters are rather loosely tethered to the words of the prayer and the ideas implicit in them, but the broad message is consistent—Morris commends acceptance even without certainties, perspective, and calm. VERDICT Morris's treatment of this very popular prayer reaches well across doctrinal and denominational divides; his book should have wide appeal to individuals, groups, and pastors.
