Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Tradition holds that King Solomon in all his wisdom gave humankind the Proverbs. The author (Have a New Kid By Friday) focuses on just the first six verses of the third chapter of the Old Testament book. “God gives us the ability to get on the right path if we’ve been on a wrong one,” writes Leman (Have a New Kid by Friday). The author leads the reader on a spiritual journey through the simplest chapter of the Bible. Leman is a psychologist who examines the human heart in light of how people live every day. He begins one chapter telling the children’s story of the three little pigs to demonstrate the effects of stress in relationships with Jesus and God. Believers must be on a constant and diligent journey of faith. Prosperity in a world of hurt creates for the Christian an opportunity to serve in the world. This is a book for active Christians to deepen their faith through the study of a simple but profound scripture from the Hebrew Bible. Leman is an affable teacher, and his words should appeal to anyone looking for a delightful short Bible study. (Feb.)
From the Publisher

"The popular psychologist, bestselling author, and radio/television personality uses humor to reveal 10 life-changing principles about God, based on the wisdom he learned from King Solomon. After an inauspicious start--Leman says his younger self was "a wise guy, a goofball, and a comedian"--the words of Proverbs 3:1-6 became his road map as he identified the choices that led to to his win-win life. Narrator Jon Gauger's amused tone is clear, and his delivery is well paced and authentic as he draws listeners into the often laugh-out-loud details of Leman's experiences. Gauger's insightful portrayal of Leman's epiphany is warmly characterized and delivered with well-timed pauses. Overall, his appealing narration engages listeners on the topics of God, purpose, and finding meaning in life."

I am a huge fan of Dr. Leman! I was excited to see that he had a new book out... and this one is very different than his others! Dr. Leman shares his heart in this book more than any other, The Way of the Wise is a quick read but it's challenging and thought provoking and VERY inspiring. I just went back and bought more copies to give as gifts. I think the dedication says it all... "This book is for all those who believe in the almighty guy 'up there,' those who aren't sure, and those, like me, who took a long while to be convinced". This is a must read! And you might want to buy more than one! Trust me... you will want to give this book to all your friends and family!
