Overview

Historical romance readers can’t wait to learn The Truth about the Duke, Caroline Linden’s wonderful series about three English brothers on a quest to restore their family name, seek their fortunes, and find true love. The Way to a Duke’s Heart is the thrilling final chapter, as a charming, pleasure-seeking nobleman takes on the serious business of uncovering a blackmailer, and enlists the help of a beautiful, no-nonsense businesswoman who, against her better judgment, finds herself falling for the rake. A RITA Award-nominated author who, as Julia Quinn says, “touches every emotion,” Caroline Linden once again demonstrates why she is a true fan favorite, especially for those who adore the exciting romantic adventures of  Liz Carlyle and Elizabeth Boyle.

Meet the Author

Caroline Linden was born a reader, not a writer. She earned a math degree from Harvard University and wrote computer software before turning to writing fiction. Twelve years, sixteen books, three Red Sox championships, and one dog later, she has never been happier with her decision. Her books have won the NEC Reader's Choice Beanpot Award, the Daphne du Maurier Award, the NJRW Golden Leaf Award, and RWA's RITA® Award. Since she never won any prizes in math, she takes this as a sign that her decision was also a smart one.

I've up to chapter 11 and just can't read anymore of it. Tessa is sharp shrewish and totally nasty to poor Charlie. So he becomes more enamored of her by the moment. I know he has low self esteem but I wish he had caught a break and fell in love with someone who actually liked him. I know Tessa will come around eventually but to tell you the truth I don't care. Tessa runs her brothers business because he is apparently stupid so she has a superiority complex. I wish I could have hung on there because I would have liked to find out who is blackmailing the duke's family. Maybe I'll just peak ahead. Since at any rate this self absorbed--know it all heroine have ruined this book for me.

HE WAY TO A DUKE'S HEART by Caroline Linden is an exciting Regency historical romance. Book #4 of "The Truth About The Duke",but can be read as a stand alone. See, "I Love the Earl","Blame It on Bath", and "One Night In London". Another great story by this author. The eldest Durham brother, Charles de Lacey, Lord Gresham, is about to meet his match,in Tessa Neville. While, looking for the blackmailer who holds the secret to his scandalous father's past, he finds intrigue, secrets, passion, acceptance, the truth of his father's deathbed confession and love. A Fast paced, action packed, passion filled tale of a father's love for his children, his secret that could destroy them all, and the love of a lifetime. A great conclusion to the Durham brother's troubles. The truth will set them all free....If you enjoy romance, deception,Regency historical, and the story of four siblings whose father leave a deathbed confession you will enjoy "The Truth About The Duke" series. Ms. Linden pulls the reader into the story and hold them captivated with her engaging characters and interesting plots. Received for an honest review from the publisher and Above The Treeline. Details can be found at the author's website,Avon Books,an imprint of Harper Collins Publishing, and My Book Addiction and More. I thought this book was terrible! I'll never get the three hours back that it took to read it. This author has done better.

I really liked this. I like that Linden's characters are flawed, they make mistakes. To me it makes the stories different than most other romance novels.

I enjoyed this book a great deal. I picked up Blame it on Bath without much in the way of expectations (I was kind of disappointed with Linden's last series). I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Each book focuses on a different brother; this was Charlie's book. In the other books, Charlie is described as a wastrel, but there is something clearly broken about Charlie--from the very beginning he comes off as a mystery. In this book the mystery that is Charlie is cleared up. He meets and falls in love with a spinsterish woman who also is more than she appears to be to the eye. They make a great match, and the ending of the book is one of the most romantic I've read in a long, long time. I heartily recommend it. If you like books of the sort written by Judith James and Joanna Bourne, you will like this series.

I enjoyed this book. It was a little slow in the beginning but soon picked up. This is the 3rd in the series, I have not read the others but I plan to.

This is the last story in The Truth About the Duke series. It features the eldest brother, Charlie, who is desperately trying to find out who is blackmailing his family. Along the way, Charlie meets Tessa, a very intelligent and determined woman who has secrets of her own that she's keeping. Charlie suspects Tessa may be in on the blackmail scheme. Finding the truth keeps these two on the path to romance. I truly loved this series and am sad to see it end. However, this story has a great finish. The main characters are believable and appealing. The setting in coal country was a stark contrast to the Bath and London settings. On the whole, I enjoyed the first story the best. But all in all, this will be a series I come back to again and again. Caroline Linden always provides a great story to enjoy!
