Overview

The quintessential book on the wedding dress, newly revised and updated in a collector’s edition, is an exciting look at the variety of luxurious wedding dresses, which both celebrates and reveals their beauty, sophistication, and romance. From Jacqueline Kennedy to Grace Kelly, Oleg Cassini’s designs are synonymous with the world’s most glamorous women. The same electrifying elegance resonates with his magnificently crafted bridal gowns. This informative presentation discusses every aspect of the wedding dress—the ultimate expression of a bride’s personality and the focal point of her day. This book showcases a wide range of styles by such fashion luminaries as Cassini, Chanel, Dior, Armani, and McQueen, among others. The beautiful fashions, photographed by such notable photographers as Patrick Demarchelier, Benno Graziani, Horst, Arthur Elgort, Milton Greene, David LaChapelle, and Irving Penn capture the effervescent spirit that is associated with the wedding dress. The Wedding Dress begins with an overview of the sumptuous wedding gown, chronicling its history from royal weddings to today’s celebrities. The book presents a variety of silhouettes—from elegant Empire-style floor-length gowns to flirty short dresses and sophisticated suits. The same electrifying elegance resonates, whether an informal ceremony, a formal evening affair or a spontaneous trip to City Hall. Also featured are some of the best weddings in the world, including celebrity, society, and high fashion weddings. This stylish look at the wedding dress is not only an essential resource for the bride-to-be but for everyone interested in fashion.

Wow, the photographs are exquisite! This book is a large coffee table size, like a glossy fashion

catalogue with more of an artisitic edge. The cover photo of Grace Kelly is breathtaking. Oleg Cassini took me through decades of fashion celebrating the most important dress. The text is beautifully written and entertaining. This is a gorgeous book for anyone getting married and if you are not, it's an amazing expererience with stars of today and yesterday. The dresses, scenery, and luscious photographs in this book have me picking it up over and over again. I will pass this book down to my daughter for inspiration for her wedding dress and day.

    WOW!!!!!

I got my book and just in time to see all the gorgeous pictures of all the royals right before the wedding of William and Kate. All the images are absolutly incredible and vibrant. It was great to see evryones different take on what they should where on one of the most important day in their lives. Totally recommend it as a bridal gift or for any royal buff, be it domestic or international, as he even goes into all his beautiful and classic designs he did for Jackie Kennedy. Great book.

This is a Wonderful Coffee Table Book that is hard to put down!

This book chronicles the history of the Wedding Dress and all of its various styles. This book is not just for the bride to be but for the Fashion connoisseur as well. I absolutely loved the cover featuring Grace Kelly in her Oleg Cassini Gown. There are many interesting and fun images in the book which range from the past all the way up to current day. Marilyn Monroe, Veronica Lake, Lana Turner, Nicole Kidman, Sara Jessica Parker, and Kim Basinger are all beautifully depicted as well as Taylor Swift, Madonna, and Britney Spears and the Beatles, Elvis and Mick Jagger. There are sections which give you a history of Weddings which are shown from many different countries especially England. You can even see the Weddings of Prince Charles to Diana as well as to Camilla. The Weddings range from formal to casual and the styles of dresses are a great deal of fun to look at. I would highly recommend this book to everyone.
