Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
This familiar ditty introduces toddlers to a variety of vehicles. The opening spread presents a shiny and big tanker truck which doesn't have its wheels going ?round because it is parked. The tugboat on the other hand is definitely moving through the water and as it does, it is tooting its horn. A bright yellow digger sits on a sun drenched landscape poised to start digging a hole in the ground. An airplane with its wheels down could be coming in for a landing or taking off and a school bus sits waiting for its passengers. The train looks more like a subway train than a railroad train, especially with a reference to the doors opening and shutting. There is nothing particularly special about this board book. It is well laid out, features vehicles that children will see and a rhyming tune that is catchy and that can be used as a springboard for introducing more of the same or new items. Part of the "Rookie Toddler" series. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
