    Timeless Fun!

I was just given this book as a gift and really enjoyed it. We will be taking our third trip to Paris next month and this guide will definitely be among the items we pack. I recommend it to anyone who wants to really understand how the locals see Paris.

No risk dining, just the way I like it!

I read Mr. Krupnick's book this weekend and just purchased a second copy to give to friends that are leaving for Paris next week. I fully enjoyed Mr. Krupnick's humor and easy writing style, which delivers a very enjoyable read as well as being informative. This is not your average guidebook full of boring 'must see' facts, but rather a lesson in culture, full of tips to help anyone better enjoy their Parisian dining experience. Favorite Part: the funny anecdotes along the way. Best Information: combining food and wine selections. Advice: purchase your tickets to Paris before reading, this book makes you want to leave tonight!

    Great Paris Dining Guide

I just finished reading the Whimsical Gourmet's Guide to Paris and I must say, it was very informative and insightful. The author did an excellent job in laying out what to expect in a Parisian restaurant, as well as what I should do when dining with my young children. We don't know a lot about wine, so I found this section of the book very helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed how he described his travel and dining experiences in Paris from an American's point of view, while his French wife, family and friends offered me an insiders look at Paris from the local's vantage point. There were many funny passages and the guide is quite easy to read. I know that this is coming with us on our next trip to Paris. I hope that the next edition will offer us more insights to shopping and hotels. Still, it's a fun read and well worth the time, even if you aren't going to Paris! Bravo Mr. Krupnick. I hope you make this book an annual event!

A Humorous and Informative Look at Paris Dining

The Whimsical Gourmet's Guide to Paris was a truly enjoyable way for me to discover what to see and where to dine while in Paris. The book is witty and author Rick Krupnick writes in a fashion that made me feel as if he were speaking directly to me. The tone is conversational and at times extremely funny. I would highly recommend this guide to anyone who enjoys good food and wine, and wants to get the latest insights on the Paris dining scene.
