Passion as hot as midnight in the South and love as wild as the horses they tame.   The darling daughter of a champion Thoroughbred breeder, Camille “Cami” Hines has a pedigree that rivals some of her father’s best horses. Other than feeling a little suffocated at times, Cami thought she was happy with her boyfriend, her life and her future—until she met Patrick Henley.   “Trick” blurs the lines between what Cami wants and what is expected of her—and he just happens to be so sexy she can’t keep her hands off him. While they both know that Trick would lose his much needed job on the ranch if anyone finds out, they can’t resist the lure of their scorchingly hot encounters.   But when Trick stumbles upon a note from his father, it triggers a series of revelations that could ruin what he and Cami have worked so hard to overcome. It turns out there’s more to Trick’s presence at the ranch than either of them knew, and secrets with the power to tear them apart…

I FREAKING LOVED THE WILD ONES SO MUCH THAT I CAN'T EVEN STAND IT!!!

Seems like I'm being a bit dramatical, yeah? I know, I know. But I'm not. That cap-smashed-filled, exclamation-riddled sentence is the honest truth. When I sat down to read The Wild Ones, I had reasonably high expectations. I had been reading the teasers, and yes, I love M. Leighton's writing. But what happened became one of my most favorite reading experiences ever.

I would love to tell you that I loved The Wild Ones for some deep, thoughtful reason. And believe me, the author did deal the characters some very heavy, hard-hitting emotional turmoil. Truly. But what put this book over the top for me was the characters.

Trick. Good lord, this man was one delicious character. And I don't mean just the looks, although, yeah, he is one beautiful man. Trick has swagger to back it up. But he's never cocky, just self-assured. Trick tries to always do the right thing, even if it causes him pain. He's given up a lot for his family, and is resigned to his duty. Until he meets Cami.Cami brings out something reckless in Trick. Something wild and untamed. Denying himself of her may be the toughest job he's faced.
"Pick 'treat'. Please, for the love of God, pick 'treat'."
    Sexiest. Line. Ever.

Sweet, sweet Cami. I adored this girl. Cami is loving and fearless. She goes along to please her domineering father. But when Cami meets Trick, she's feels the drawn to him like a puppet on a string. She feels alive. Free. Reckless. But will the pull be enough to make her cut ties to her perfect life? It seems inevitable, but life isn't always simple. Cami and Trick's new found flame will be put to the test, in more ways than they can imagine.

Cami and Trick are backed up by two of the most awesome friends ever. Jenna and Rusty were absolute riots. Every time Cami or Trick would get down, these two were there to pull them back up, usually using humor and pulling no punches. I wish they had their own book! (I'm looking at you M.)

So with a cover like this, you know there's going to be some serious steam. I had read the Madly series by Leighton, so I knew she can write some smokin' love scenes. And she does bring the steam in this book. But, she also delivers some fantastic build-up. The quietly suggestive, flirtatious moments between Trick and Cami was through the roof. The sexual tension between them was so freaking hot, I was left fanning myself and telling my husband to crank up the AC. No lie.
I know that I've spent most of my review gushing about The Wild Ones. How much I loved Trick and Cami, their friends, their romance. But at the heart of it, is the sweetest love of all. The willingness to go out on a limb. To take a chance for the kind of love that might not seem safe, but is the kind of love we all dream about. With Trick and Cami, that kind of love is most certainly worth the risk.

This is one Trick you will want. This author is a genius when is comes to sexy leading mean. You will love the steamy banter between the lead characters Cami and Trick. I'm also a sucker for hot cowboys. I've always loved stories with horses like The Man From Snowy River. Bravo to the author for this great tale about forbidden love, love at first sight, and wild horses all in one.

    Cool beans

This was a good book and it had me turning pages furiously to see what happens. Although the conflicts in this book were obvious, it still had some good qualities: like the romance between Trick and Cami and Rusty and Jenna. But I have to say from pages 140 ish-160 was the longiest drag-fest in the history of draging out the conclusion. In a way it made the reunion that much sweeter( depending on the person ). Other than that this book is about 190 pages and if you find yourself in need of a book this might be the book for you.

    Freakin' Awesome!!

Holy Dang!! This book was just awesome! And I know what you’re thinking – I don’t usually read non-paranormal books but let me tell you something. There is nothing normal about Trick! Guys that are that perfect have to be of supernatural origin because they don’t exist in nature! Trick has that cocky attitude that we all love, but deep down he’s as loyal & loving as can be! Not to mention sexy & hardworking! And I love Cami, too. That girl has some spunk! And she’s strong enough to fight for what she believes in and what she wants! Seriously this book has it all! I laughed, I cried, I fanned myself from the hot & steamy scenes- I absolutely loved it!

    I Also Recommend:

The cover is perfect for this book.

I liked the story, but wish there would have been a little more character and story development. I did not get as wrapped up in this book as I thought I would, but still enjoyed it.

I'm still confused on why we completely skipped over the whole Cami-is-still-a-virgin thing? That's generally a pretty big deal, but it wasn't ever mentioned before or after Trick and Cami got together. Did I just misinterpret that part of the story? The scene changes between chapters were sometimes very abrupt and a little hard to follow.

Overall, though, I liked The Wild Ones!

Forbbiden Romance mixed with family secrets! Total MUST READ!

    Spoiler Free Review
    4 STARS out of 5
    Genre: Contemporary Romance-New Adult/College

'Walking to the front of the stage, Trick strums the notes effortlessly. When his solo riff is over the rest of the band chimes in, begining with the heavy beat of the drum. Girls start screaming, guys start hollering and I can't help but smile. I'm really begining to enjoy myself when, all they way across the throng of partiers,Trick looks up and his eyes meet mine. I am a deer caught in the headlights. I am a girl charmed by the cobra. I am breathless and mesmerized. And then he grins. Just like that, I'm his. Whether he knows it or not.' -Cami's inner monologue

I have read a lot of mixed reviews for this book. For some this book hit the mark for others it fell short. For me it hit the mark. Cami and Trick was HOT whenever they are within the same vicinity as eachother. And I... Well I loved every second of it!

Trick's family needs him, so he must stop school just shy of graduation in order to work full time. He lucks up and is hired by Jack Hines a Champion Thorough breeder. Jack gives Trick free reign on the ranch with the horses he just has one rule. Do not touch his daughter. The money is good plus Trick gets to be around his first love. Horses.
Everything is going fine until Trick spots her the hot chick from Lucky's(the bar) that he can't get out of his head. Cami. Jack's daughter.

Cami's got it goin on. She's young, rich and beautiful. Her current boyfriend Brent is also young, rich and beautiful. Life is perfect. What more does a girl need? Umm... how about passion. Yes that's it. No holds barred and full of possibilities passion. And Trick aka Patrick Henley is that in spades for Cami.

When these two finally connect... HOT DAMN it was fire. And just when you think its on. Uh NO. Its off. A family secret from the past comes and robs them of their bliss.

    Thoughts
I can honestly say I enjoyed the book; even though I was able to guess the twist before it occured. It did not seem to take away from the story for me. I loved the friendships between Cami and Jenna and with Trick and Rusty. I really enjoyed the witty banter with the friends as well as the couples. I totally found that I empathized with Tricks mom. However I was very very happy when Trich and Cami got their HEA. I do recommend this to YA lovers.

    My Ratings
    Characters- Likeable
    Writing Style- Good
    Plot/Storylines- Good
    Steam Factor- High/Very Steamy

This was a completely different writing style for M.Leighton and wow...I think she has found her niche. She should definitely explore the New Adult Genre more.

Trick was just enough of bad boy to be oh so good and he won my heart over before he won Cami's. He had me at "Scuse me." (I love me some good 'ole country boy.) Without doubt, he was one of the hottest lead characters I've read about in a while, but Grace and his mom were the perfect touch for making Trick a more lovable and believable character. (Although I about died when the little sister was introduced but I'm not spoiling anything by saying why.)

Cami was a perfect match for Trick. She had that perfect rich girl scenario going on without being a total beotch about it. (Little pleases me more than a rich, perfect girl falling for the "wrong" guy.) She was just enough sweet and firecracker at he same time to tame that wild Trickster boy.

The twist to this story was not at all what I expected and it couldn't have surprised me more. I knew there was one coming but it was so much more creative than I anticipated. Well done, M. Well done!

For me, Jenna was a fabulous secondary character and I would like to suggest she get her own story with Rusty. Hint. Hint. I have no doubt their's would be HAWT!

5 Very Deserving Stars for M's first New Adult Novel.

“I guess THE WILD ONES is actually a sweet story about two people that are really not supposed to fall in love but do, and they overcome whatever obstacles life keeps throwing their way. ” ~Under the Covers

This book started out very engaging, with a chance meeting of our hero and heroine at the bar. She’s upper class and has everything money can buy, he’s struggling after his father’s death to help support his family.

He ends up working at her family’s ranch and they are not able to continue seeing each other because he could loose the one job his family depends on. Then there’s the point that she has a boyfriend, but she’s never really been into him. That’s more of a family arrangement that it would beneficial for them to get married.

Cami and Trick (yes I love the hero’s name) made a great couple but I have to admit that I wasn’t a huge fan of Cami at times. Her age showed through at times and maybe even a little of being a spoiled princess. But overall they are both likeable, just not sure if they will stand out in the crowd. They are all kinds of sexy once she stops her O.M.G. drooling mentality and can keep her head on the here and now. I think a lot of that is because of Trick.

Trick also has had it rough at home, I found his mom to be a bit selfish towards the end and uncaring of her son’s happiness.

The story, although engaging at first, went through a slow period for me somewhere in the middle and then picked up again towards the end when we get the twist and angst. I have to say that I saw that coming from the first time Cami’s mother set eyes on Trick. It was an instant lightbulb in my head. And I think that part of the story made things even more interesting. But I do think the author could’ve pushed harder and made things angstier.

However, what’s a good book without great side characters? The next book in this series will be about Cami’s best friend and Trick’s best friend. Again, Jenna has a boyfriend that she’s not really that into but she is very much into Rusty. I am curious enough in their story to read the book. Plus I think they both provided some fun entertainment in THE WILD ONES.

Oh, which brings me to my last point. THE WILD ONES….should’ve been wilder. There were a lot of elements that could’ve ramped up the wildness factor but where just not used. Trick was sort of part of a band (at least honorary member), there was the whole thing with the hot rides. So much sexiness that could’ve been used. I kept waiting for those things to pop up and throw me for a wild ride but just never happened.

I guess THE WILD ONES is actually a sweet story about two people that are really not supposed to fall in love but do, and they overcome whatever obstacles life keeps throwing their way. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
