2.5 - 3 stars, this was a cute little story, although I'm not totally on board with the whole 'spirit animal' thing, at least it was original. My main issue with short stories (including this one) is they go along fine until about halfway through when the main character does a 180. For example, when Elysia finally shows Darien what's in her backpack, we were reading from his perspective at the time and therefor had no idea why all of a sudden she showed him when up until that point she was steadfast against it. Anyway this was only about 60 pages (and free on my Nook) so it was a nice light read before bed when I had some extra time to kill.

The Wild’s Call by Jeri Smith-Redi Aspect of Crow Book 0.5 Elysia and Darien are within the city of Baltimore. What use to be the city anyways. Elysia has no choice but to steal to survive. When Darien comes to her rescue they escape the city. They both have had dreams of animals spirits calling them away. The fox for Elysia and the bear for Darien. So off on their adventure to start a new world and a new life. Together. Aspect of Crow Trilogy: Eyes of Crow, Voice of Crow and The Reawakened. **Sensual situations

This short story is a prequel to “Eyes of Crow” and is set after the modern world collapse. The story, characters, and action are interesting, and the ending was satisfying. I liked it and I think it makes a great free opening to a series.

This is a good book but i was expecting a much longer story and i can not wait to get the next book. If you haven't read this book i would reccomend this book. This book is full of adventure and it is really good. If you(who is reading this review)asked me if this was a good book i would say yes.

Unique setting and story...wish it was longer! Also wish the books in the series were cheapee. $10 for a book is too much.

The story needed to be developed much more to be good. Often I think that an author gets rushed, even by themselves, and doesn't develop their story enough for a reader.

Would have been a great book if it was longer

Great story about a post-apocalyptic world. It's a bit of a teaser, I can't wait to read more.

A very nice short story. I was a little disappointed that it was a short story and not a full length novel.

It was a really good book for being free...would have loved for it to continue on though. I was hooked from the beginning pages

Good short story. A little more explanation on some things would have been nice, but overall quite enjoyable.

This seems more like a teaser than a short story. Due to that I came away disappointed.

Has just about everything from danger to mystery to romance and even betrayal. It's a very good read indeed. I cannot say more without giving away the book itself. Would have rated it 5 stars but it did not go into the depth in areas I think it could have, and the ending was quite abrupt leaving you with some unanswered questions, however I am very picky. Plus I will still keep it in my library as it is a good read as I said.
