"It was a broken world when we arrived. The wind had taken over and swept through the remains. Those who had survived called it the "Cataclysm"...
I am one of three who became known as the Witches of Ard. The story I relate now does not start at the beginning, but at...the end.
It was my species who was directly responsible for orchestrating the destruction of this planet's moon.
Shortly after our arrival on this world, the elders assigned us the responsibility of monitoring the final stages of mass extinction."

Wow. I've read Post-Apocalyptic novels before, but never one like this one. Think of the best ones you've read, combine your favorite elements from them all into one, and you have "The Wind Raider - Book One".
It stuns me to think that this is only the first book, because of the character building, world building and story line it contains. Richard Finney masterfully sets the foundation for another successful series in this novel which is only the beginning.

And what a foundation it is.

It's a well-paced story and pleasant to read. Not abundantly wordy, but the author does not spoon feed you the story either. I read this book in one day, because I simply could not put it down.
I've read several of this author's books, and he never disappoints. "The Wind Raider - Book One" holds true to form. Richard Finney is a master of his craft and a true professional. There are characters you love, ones you hate, and non-stop action. His sleight of hand is powerful, because characters and situations are not always who or what they appear to be in his novels.

No matter the genre you prefer, I highly recommend any of Richard Finney's novels. Try one. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Beautifully illustrated by Gabriel Hardman, an accomplished illustrator in his own right, whether for motion pictures, (the Spiderman and X-Men movies), or comic books. He's done illustrating for Marvel and DC Comics, ("Hulk", "X-Men" and "Legend of the Dark Knight"), and has his own original graphic novels including "Heathentown" and "Kinski".

Contains helpful Glossary and Character Listing with information.
