After expounding on these issues, he went off to deal with a beautiful young sister-in-law discovered on the verge of adultery. He patched up at least the exterior of her marriage, although neither husband nor wife seemed all that interested in it, and then proceeded so singlemindedly to disgrace her would-be seducer that he himself, saying his prayers later, had some doubts about his motives.—The New York Times
