Are you tired of diet programs that just don't work?

Have you tried one diet after another but still have nothing to show for?

Our ancestors from almost 200,000 years ago lived in harsh and brutal conditions where they needed to hunt for their meat and forage for our vegetables and greens. They did not cultivate crops or eat grain. They were the true hunter-gatherers. Because of their diet they were lean, physically strong and energetic. They had lots of work to do to stay alive and they had the physical physique to accomplish their goals.

Our ancestors, genetically related to us in every way, ate what’s called the Paleo Diet. This is a far cry from our modern diet of refined foods, sugar and trans fats, which are artificially created and didn’t even exist 200,000 years ago. Our diet happens to be the basis behind our current epidemic of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, Parkinson’s disease, infertility, depression and Alzheimer’s disease.

So what would happen if we, instead of indulging in a modern diet, ate the same diet as the “cave man” who thrived on a far different diet than ours? Some research is indicating that we would be thinner, stronger and free of physical illness.

This book was well written & researched. I just saw another review that was probably left by a person who has not even read the book. Just like in the metal health sector, scientists are finding out that how people lived in the old days actually was a lot healthier, especially for the overall physical condition, as well as for a healthy mind. This book continues to look into what a person should be doing if s/he wants to create a healthy eating habit. Besides general information on dieting, and especially the Paleo diet, the author has taken the time to include some great recipes you can try that follow the recommendations as per Paleo diet method. These recipes are not very difficult, and will contribute to an improved overall physical conditions if used the correct way. Although there are many books written about the Paleo diet, I liked this book as it was easy to read, without much jargon or boring passages. A great addition to my collection of food related Nook books, and I can only recommend it highly for anyone who wants to learn about improving eating habits using the Paleo diet system.

I decided I needed to focus more on my health. A friend recommended that I check out these books and so I did. I did a little research and decided to get this one, a choice I am happy with. I have never read any books on the Paleo diet before, and had no idea what this concept was, so it really helped that the book explained where this originated from, how it is meant to work and what makes it different from other diets. If you’re a beginner dieter like me this is a great place to start, it is well written, easy to understand, full of useful information and will really help you make a difference in your health. I am giving it 5 stars!

I am always trying to find a new diet that will work and not have me counting calories or measuring my food. "The Wonder of Paleo Diet" is an excellent book that provides just that. I never really considered the diet of prehistoric man being one that would promote weight control but it does. Lean meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts in quantities that satisfy the individual appetite can do just that. This book explains the evolution of man and diet and really makes sense. After all, the cavemen surely didn't work out at the gym or walk on a treadmill an hour a day. So, by following the Paleo Diet, you too can manage your weight without strains and sprains related to vigorous exercise rituals. Easy reading with the best content. I now frequently refer back to this book for helpful information. Excellent book written in easy language with valuable information. I recommend this book and the Paleo Diet to everyone.

This was a fascinating book to me because basically I do not need to lose any weight but need to eat healthier because of stomach problems. The Paleo diet would be definitely be better for my digestion issues. I liked how the book explains the differences between the diets such as South Beach and Atkins. There are no calories to be counted, and no zones or plans to go through like other diets. I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a healthier way to lose weight!

I've been curious about the paleo diet for some time and how it relates to a more "real" food centered diet. I find the idea of this diet to be wonderful & really like the recipes included. What I also appreciated was the breakdown this book did comparing the paleo diet other, popular low carb diets as well as being up front about the fact that this is not a convenient diet. I enjoyed the brief, evolutionary history lesson provided about the history of our ancestors' diets as well.

In the last couple years, we've started hearing a lot about the paleo diet, a diet based around ancient man and what they ate in the natural world. These days, our foods are so full of preservatives, trans fats, artificial flavoring and sweeteners, and other chemicals that it's detrimental to our health. This book makes a case for the paleo diet, explaining the pros and cons of eating the way our caveman ancestors did, as well as providing recipes and letting you know what you can expect if you try the paleo diet. Definitely worth a look if you're looking for a new diet with all-natural food.
