Overview

Judson Press is proud to present an extraordinary new collection commemorating the ministry of Gardner C. Taylor. This multivolume set is a tribute to the unique personality, philosophy, and preaching style of one of America's greatest pastors. Included in these volumes are notable sermons from various church events, meetings, and special occasions, as well as selected lectures, interviews, and articles spanning over 40 years of Gardner Taylor's ministry.

Volume 1 features select sermons delivered on the popular national radio program, NBC Radio Pulpit, from 1959 to 1970. These sermons highlight the essence of the early years of Taylor's unique preaching ministry.

The upcoming volumes contain some of Taylor's most significant sermons preached in church settings from the 1970s through the 1990s, at special occasions such as denominational meetings, and at special events. Those events include a service honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Samuel Proctor's funeral.

In addition, a host of selected lectures, interviews, and articles will be included to make this work the most complete available on Gardner C. Taylor's ministry.

    bEST OF THE 20TH CENTURY

This book contains the depth and soul of one of God's great pulpiteers. The composition of the messages and it's content is immeasurable. Here it is the 21st century and his sermons are progressive and profound. You can use the antedotes and textual references as if the material was produced yesterday. God has been favorable to Dr.Taylor for giving him such a gift. The unique combination of academics and appreciation for the tradition of African-American preaching sytle come through in this book. I can't wait for the succeeding volumes to follow as God speaks through his vessel.
