Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

Workbasket Magazine began, shall we say, modestly. Its first issue in 1935 carried a two-sentence introductory letter: "Aunt Martha is going to compile different projects together in each issue. Each issue will sell for 15 cents or a yearly subscription would be in $1.00." In the coming decades, however, this little Missouri publication blossomed, only completing its triumphant run in 1996 after 671 issues. In this nostalgic, yet delightfully practical Workbasket workbook, fashion images and sewing ideas from its golden age emerge in ways that you won't want to forget.
