Faster and more reliable than the Internet!

I do an competitive exercise with my college students who worship the Internet as a research tool. Once they are familiar with the types of information and organization of the Almanac, they find out it's often faster and better than Google for answers to questions.

I would recommend this World Almanac from young students to any adult of any age. I happened to recently purchase four of the 2009 Edition, one for myself and 3 copies for the children of co-workers that will greatly benefit from this wonderful book

These 2009 World Almanacs will be of great worth to myself and the students I've given them to.

    A wonderful book of facts!

Have been buying the World Almanac for years. As did my Mother before me.
This little volume is jammed with facts about just about everything. Don't know how many times when a questionn comes up I'll say look in the Almanac!

    Excellent resource!

I try to teach all my students about the abundance of useful information to be found in an almanac--useful, brief entries on the countries of the world, political developments, records, sports, disasters, Olympic records, etc. The index could be a tad more precise here and there, but usually I am able to find what I need with it. For the money and value, this book can't be beaten!

    Facts, facts, facts

I like this World Almanac much better than the last one I bought, The New York Times World Almanac. There are more entries, easier to read, and has more information on personalities--woefully inadequate in the NY Times Almanac. Good maps and colorful design make this browser fun to go to and find esoteric trivia.
