This colorful, interactive almanac will fascinate young people with its many facts and its eye-catching style. The introductory section of "Faces and Places" brings the reader up-to-date on significant happenings during 2004. Highlights include top movies, sports stars and events, space exploration and top news stories. Thirty-eight categories of information follow, beginning with animals and continuing through world history. All sections are short, ranging in length from three to nine pages, with the exception of the segment on the United States. Fifty pages are devoted to explaining the Constitution and organization of the government, presenting pictures and brief biographies of all the Presidents, a historical timeline, contributions of African-Americans, and facts about each state. Little known facts, homework tips, and quizzes (answers are in the back) are interspersed throughout the book. The many maps, diagrams, charts and illustrations will entice readers to browse through the book just to discover what is inside. Interesting information about almost any subject of interest to young people is included. A comprehensive index aids in finding specific facts. 2005, World Almanac Books, Ages 7 to 12.

Its incredable how many cool exiting things there are to know about in this world, the Almanac for Kids explains all these things very simple yet interesting. For example it says how many people there are in this world. There is over 6 billion, I found this out from reading the Almanac. Now its your turn to read it so you can be the head of your class.
