The World in the Sky and the Universe Above: Details and Stories of the Cloud Dragon
Here is the formal introduction of the second of the nine dragon species, the Cloud Dragon. The Cloud Dragons are known for their unique traits of eating only clouds and a wide variety at that. They have skin and soft scales so when combined with their cloud-like appearance they are the least threatening looking of all dragon species. The Cloud Dragons are the largest communicators and mediators with those that live on the Planet Below and this is due to their strong kinship with the smuts, the creature from there that enjoys and uses the clouds nearly as much as the Cloud Dragons. The cloud-like formations and related elements in the Universe Above draw in huge attention by the Cloud Outer Space Dragons, too.

In this third text of the ten text series we will go through the full details like this including how they acquire their food, information about when they are baby dragons and elderly dragons, how the Cloud Outer Space Dragons function, the Cloud Dragons' overall strengths, the Cloud Dragons' overall weaknesses, how they game differently based on being Cloud Dragons, how they uniquely engage with key places around the World in the Sky and its circumference, emergency Cloud Dragon detailing, and how they act with the three key characters from the Planet Below who visit the skies being the flapanoids, zoploggers and smuts. This is followed by six short stories as to get to know them better.

This third novel in the ten-text series is a purposeful intention of a western anthropologically trained woman, myself, to piece together a fun story series based on my interpretations of the dragons that I gained when studying abroad in 2001 as well as in the about cumulative about four and a half years when living in Asia, that being Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam, between 2005-2017. I have consciously decided to take a more peaceful approach to the dragons, similar to how a monumental amount of Asians do, instead of the slaying-the-dragon or controlling-the-dragon interpretation. Of the nine species of dragons that will be discussed over the years my biggest desire is for those readers that don't know a lot about dragons to offer some insight into them with at least this one perspective.

About the Author

Abigail Behrends is a United States Citizen who was born and raised in the state of Wisconsin. She obtained her BA degrees in Cultural Anthropology as well as Psychology, with a certificate in Women Studies, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002. Later in her undergraduate career she attended an experiential learning study abroad program called Semester at Sea, boarding a ship in the spring of 2001 that traveled around the globe to 12 different countries on four continents. During this time she discovered her love for photography, and as a result her photography work has been displayed at locations such as the National Press Club; the Andy Warhol Museum; Laguna Beach, CA; and independent solo photography shows at galleries in both her home state and the state of Minnesota. Her current photography shows are a visual anthropological examination focusing on women’s empowerment in Asia. One of her women’s empowerment photographs has also been published in a book titled Changing Perspective: The Semester at Sea Experience.

She has worked for the state of South Dakota and the state of Wisconsin focusing on archaeology, archiving and library sciences. In addition, her love for photography and working with artifacts brought her to become a photography researcher co-leading a team where some of the photos that were archived were intended to be used for a five Emmy-nominated documentary film Ethel.

Abigail Behrends has lived in Wisconsin, Minnesota, California, New York, Vermont, South Dakota, and Arkansas while in the USA, and Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia while abroad. While living in Vermont, she obtained her MA degree at SIT Graduate Institute called Intercultural Service, Leadership, and Management. She did her MA thesis work with the Karen Women’s Organization in Thailand, then subsequently wrote the thesis, “An Examination of How Refugee Resettlement Affects the Experiences of Karen Female Refugees that Remain on the Thai/Burma Border,” which has been published electronically at the SIT Graduate Institute Library.

She is a LGBTQ rights advocate and currently pushing to have the LGBTQI Equality Act passed which would be an amendment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to include sexual orientation and sexual identity.

The World in the Sky and the Universe Above: Details and Stories of the Cloud Dragon is her eighth published fiction work. She is in the works with many more novels, short stories, plays and poems.
