Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"The World of Words is a user-friendly book that students find challenging but very useful. They often see the words in this book in other places such as college textbooks, newspapers, magazines, content area journals and hear them in newscasts and radio broadcasts."

"One of the things I found most interesting was the thematic content of the chapters." Professor Richeck "did an excellent job of introducing and discussing skills throughout the chapters."

"We had considered not purchasing a vocabulary book for our college prep reading class, but THE WORLD OF WORDS is the best I've seen incorporating context clues and word parts. This added value convinced us that the book would be an asset."

"I was ecstatic to see that you included the parts of speech and the word endings for all the parts of speech. . . . We go over that at the start of class and then go back and use that section all the time so that whenever they see a word they can pick out how to use it correctly."
