Eric Rücker Eddison (1882-1945) was a noted English writer and civil servant. After education at Eton and Trinity College, Eddison joined the Board of Trade in 1906, where he remained until his retirement in 1938. Eddison published THE WORM OUROBOROS in 1922, achieving acclaim from J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Ursula K. Le Guin. Following his retirement, Eddison published his successful Zimiamvia trilogy, left unfinished at his death in 1945.
