Nikki Amdur...Marvelous...Each essay is a fully realized, sometimes irreverent, meditation.

I had the audio version of The Writer in the Garden years ago. My mother recommended it to me and I loved it. Alas, I lent it out once too often and it never came back. I didn't replace it for some reason until I saw the title in my email. I didn't even read the details; I just ordered it and waited eagerly for it to be available.
This is a book for almost any taste. You have philosophy and poetry, advice and humor all in one place for you to dip into when you have a minute or read for an hour as one piece leads you into another and into yet another. It isn't a how-to or an academic treatise but a celebration of gardens and gardening and I love it. I suspect other gardeners, whether professional or dabbler, will too.
