THE WRONG TODD by Donna McDonald is romantic, funny, serious, heartwarming, and written in a very realistic way. A rare story of an older woman being given a second chance at love after being left by a cheating husband. I loved that Sabine was true to herself and didn’t allow herself to be carried away by the very romantic and sweet talking, Todd aka The Sexy Chef. I loved that her jerk of an ex gets his. I loved that Todd was a man who immediately saw Sabine’s worth and was not discouraged by her rebuttals. Her many rebuttals. He knew she was the woman for him and wasn’t afraid to prove himself to her… or wait until she was ready to accept his attentions. The story made me laugh and cry, easily catching me up in the emotional struggles of the characters. The narrator was very good and the story excellent. I liked it so much I’ve listened to it three times already. 4.5 stars.
As an avid reader, I had rarely ventured into listening to audiobooks. After trying THE WRONG TODD in audio format, I was more than pleasantly surprised at how well I liked it. The narrator is an amazing vocalist who draws you in to the story and characters. She does an excellent job of changing pitch and tempo, making the character conversations easy to listen to and follow. The book is an entertaining and wonderful story of a successful, intelligent woman who has to deal with some personal insecurities when she meets and becomes romantically involved with a man by the name of TODD. I would recommend this audiobook to anyone. And for those of you who are new to audiobooks, it would be a great first experience.
Sabine Blakeman will do about anything for her best friend. She never imagined she would be bidding on bachelor’s at an auction to try and win a guy named Todd for said friend. She vows she will never do anything embarrassing like this again. She didn’t know Todd’s last name but what were the odds of there being more than one Todd. It isn’t as popular as most names, so this should be pretty easy right? Yea…not so much. So what is Sabine to do now that she has spent a pretty penny on the wrong Todd. I loved this book. I can totally relate with Sabine and the problems she has had with her ex husband. This book really hit home for me. It was very well written and such a fabulous read. I recommend it to anyone who loves contemporary romance!
Whether you're a recent divorcee or not, you're going to enjoy this book. It's filled with laughs and sexy fun. I love that Sabine is made to feel beautiful and sexy, despite her thinking that she's overweight. That made the book even more enjoyable.
