The best manga series I've ever read.

The Yagyu Ninja Scrolls is the best Manga series I have ever read -- and it's only on its fourth volume so far. While this series may be more expensive than other manga, the reason for it is easy to see. The artwork is incredible -- Masaki Segawa's art puts every other manga to shame. The quality of the art alone is reason enough to check this series out. In this fourth installment of The Yagyu Scrolls, the dreaded Seven Spears of Aizu are causing havoc in Edo in an attempt to draw out the masked spy who has been causing them so much trouble. It an attempt to put the violence to an end, Yagyu Jyubei and one of the Hori women sneak into enemy territory to attack the problem at its root. But the Seven Spears are not so easilly thwarted, and in the ensuing confrontation, Jyubei's plans go horribly awry.... Man, this was a really intense volume -- I was at the edge of my seat the whole way through. The beginning of the story is very dark, however, so readers be warned. But if you are a fan of samurai, ninja, or intense action with a worthy plot to go with it, then this is the story for you! (Just be sure to read the three previous manga in this series first.)
