With a catchy title that speaks to all of us, Dr. Woody follows age-old wisdom in his 5-step guide - he keeps it simple! The book doesn't re-invent the wheel, but it certainly does package the parts well. It is well structured and offers a comprehensive approach to career building. It is sprinkled with friendly metaphors and anecdotes that keep it lively. After each of the 5 steps, there are short exercises that force you to turn theory into practice. Being of the non-glossy variety, the book encourages you to put pen to page in the moment of reading. The best part yet is that it is short; on a domestic flight, I was able to move through all 5 steps (although I confess I didn't do all of the exercises). All in all, it is a useful guide for anyone who feels stuck on the career path. Ora, Executive Coach. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Easy, fun read that offers practical, straightforward advice for the job seeker or person dissatisfied with their career. This book is filled with self-analysis worksheets and charts so you can determine your values, passions, and other vital components to a career. It will force you to take a step back to evaluate your assets and take some time for introspection. Woven throughout the book is information on how to network, how to leverage social media to promote your brand, and excellent real world examples of people that have followed something similar to his VIPER plan and succeeded, from Rachel Ray to the owner of Zappos. Highly recommend it!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

The more I read, the more people I thought of who I want to share The YOU Plan with. Dr. Woody brings a fresh perspective to the notion of taking charge of one's career - and life! I love his concept of the six career PACERS, and the way they are so clearly explained. The exercises sprinkled throughout the book ask great questions and really help the reader reflect upon the right path for him or her self. This is a book you will come back to again and again, because The YOU Plan makes sense whether you are looking for your first job, contemplating a career change, or trying to figure out what you want your legacy to be. Congratulations, Michael, on creating a tool that will make a difference in the lives of many people! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
