Chrissy Peebles, a practicing nurse, has always loved reading and writing fantasy from the earliest age she can remember. She plotted every single twist she could think of during bedtime stories for her children. When her little ones begged for more adventures, she felt confident enough to let her overeager imagination spill out into her first novel. She lives in Ohio with her husband, two young kids, one hamster, three dwarf hamsters and cat. When she's not taking the kids to Little League soccer, basketball, or baseball, she loves to snap photos as her favorite hobby.

    Writing great

Loved the first one awesome story. So i look up second and i worried because it said the rest would be in novella form and at 2.99 that would be to much for to little 4 me. I took chance was happy to see over 600 plus pages...but then i noticed the page nubers skipping...so for every 100 pages you get 45 to maybe little over 50 i dont know why but now i will never know how it ends becausr i am not paying 2.99 for a novella.

Race For The Cure Is On

When “The Zombie Chronicles- Apocalypse Unleashed” ended a fellow survivor named Tahoe had stolen the vials that could cure Val of the zombie infection along with their vehicle. Now in the sequel, “The Zombie Chronicles-A Race For The Cure” find Nick, Dean, Val, Lucas, Jackie, and Claire in a race against time to catch up with Tahoe and retrieve the cure before it’s too late and Val completely turns into a zombie for good. It is a good thing that the bag that held the vials had a tracking devise hidden inside.

As they are traveling closer and closer to Tahoe’s location they find themselves in several sticky situations where they have to fight for their lives and survival. Since Tahoe stole their vehicle they have to walk and they soon come to a town that looks like it had been bombed. As they are slowly but carefully making their way through the rubble Dean falls through said rubble into a hole filled with debris but of course it isn’t just filled with dirt, cement, and rocks, it also has a horde of walking dead. The group works hard for a way to get him out, finally lowing a rope and helps him escape just in the nick of time. They end up finding a pick-up truck, hotwire it and get back on Tahoe’s trail.

Eventually the tracking device becomes stationary and they realize they are not far behind him. They only have one problem; Val has been completely turned. Now the ticking clock has gotten louder and time has almost run out. They arrive at the gates of Kingsville, a town surrounded by razor wire fence, a manned and armed gate and just a ton of soldiers with tanks, weapons, and all things military. Before they are allowed inside they have to be checked by the medical personnel. While waiting their turn they meet a woman looking for her sister. She has flyers with her picture and basic information. The nurse at the clinic denies every seeing her.

They all manage to get in and sneak Val into their assigned hotel room. They leave her tied up and they head out to locate Tahoe and their missing vials. Everywhere they go people deny ever seeing Tahoe. They encounter a whole lot of strange people and even manage to get out of a bar brawl. As they pass by an old man he advises them to escape while they still can by jumping the fence. They regroup and head back to their room only to discover Val has gone missing.

What happened to Val? Where is Tahoe and exactly who is he? Will they make it out of this situation alive? Will they be able to save Val in time from becoming a full-fledge zombie? To get these answers and more pick up your copy of this great series. If you are a fan of all things zombies then this is not a series you want to miss out on. Chrissy Peebles has written a great sequel in her Zombie Chronicles and it will surely become a favorite of yours that you will reread over and over.

Although I enjoyed the first book, I HATE when an author ropes you in with a decent first in the series, and then decides to switch to the novella format. I won't pay $9:00 (3 novellas) for what amounts to a 350 page book.

I enjoyed Book 1 of The Zombie Chronicles, Book 2 not so much. The reason is that the first book ended with a "cliffhanger" and the "cliffhanger" was NOT resolved in book 2. Book 2 had its own cliffhanger and I now have no faith that either cliffhanger will be resolved in book 3.

I read the first installment of this series in the anthology, Darlings of Decay, and absolutely loved it!

This is a pretty unique story about the zombie apocalypse and 2 brothers, a sister, and their 3 friends trying to get back home to safety. Dean and Nick are desperate to save their sister Val from being lost forever to the virus that's causing people to become zombies. They are chasing after Tahoe, who stole Deans backpack containing the vials that could be the cure they need to save their sister. On their adventure to hunt down Tahoe, seek revenge, and obtain the vials, they come across a very strange town.

If you read the first book in the Zombie Chronicles series, you will definitely want to read this one as well. I'm currently on the 3rd book and it just keeps getting better! This series is very unique, fast-paced, and really enjoyable!!

Great job Chrissy!! You got yourself a new fan!! :-)

I was very disappointed in this book.  Though the characters were in their teens, their decision making and dialog seemed to be from much younger individuals.  I found that the story lacked a continuity and fluidity, it is like the author had a problem remembering where or what her characters were doing or had just done as their next action made no sense.  To be honest, I could not wait to finish this book and have no plans on reading any others in this series.

    BN review please

I don't like this book yet i have to give it a star. The point of giving a star is recommending it. Well if i think it is terrible why wouldn't i give it zero stars? I think this system should be changed as i have seen the comment several times. A comment and recommendation page for BN would be a great idea. Like a possible zero stars recommendation or better search system for purchases or free wallpapers/live wallpapers and audio books (never found any, except for kids)
