Wow...not understanding the bad reviews. If youre looking for great literary feats then the zombie apocalypse genre isn't your schtick. That being said I felt it was a very fun read. The characters behaved in a (mostly) realistic fashion...especially considering the age of most of them. Some fairly typical situations, but I absolutely loved the sarcastic humor throughout. Again a very fun read. Looking forward to the next ones.

If you have a thing for zombie books, if you loved the movie “Zombieland” or the TV series “The Walking Dead” than you will be mad about “The Zombie Chronicles (Apocalypse Infection Unleashed Series)” by Chrissy Peebles. The first chapter starts the action with Dean and his date riding a Ferris wheel when zombies storm the fair. Fast forward to a year in time where people are trying to survive. Dean, along with his brother is trying to save Val, the sister they knew nothing about. Dean has an experimental cure for her but the catch is he has to wait for her to turn before administrating said cure, but in the new world of ‘Zombie land’ once someone has been infected then they are put to death before they have a chance to turn and infect others. Right before Val is slated to be executed Dean sneaks her out of the quarantined, top-security detention center to await her turning. Along the way they rescue a couple of girls, fight off numerous zombie attacks and just try to survive long enough to administer the cure that could save their sister. Chrissy Peebles has outdone herself again with “The Zombie Chronicles (Apocalypse Infection Unleashed Series)”. With this third series she has shown that she is a truly gifted, multitalented novelist. If this is the first book that you have read by Ms. Peebles than do yourself a favor, get back to the Amazon website and get yourself a copy of all of her books. Every one of the books in each of her series are different but highly entertaining and once you start one of her books you will not want to stop reading until that last page is turned. I started this book in the morning and before it was bedtime (to my disappointment) I had finished it. It was that difficult to put down. This is one author that will surely become a favorite of yours.

This was an okay book, it is for teens. Meet Dean and Nick who are trying to save their sister Val, who has gotten bitten by a zombie. They meet a few friends and are trying to make it to a safe haven. There is some humor in the book. ****spoiler If a gun is in it's holster properly, it shouldn't fall out. It did get annoying how many times Dean was losing his gun. Also after a few lessons the girls aren't gonna be great shots, it is VERY hard to make a head shot, especially under stress which is why police are always taught to shoot center mass. The romance was ok, I can understand the stressful situation, but I don't think they would be kissing this fast! There is a problem with the timeline, w/ the zombie infection going on for a year I was surprised the girls hadn't learned any survival skills? I am not sure how Dean got separated from the "cure", wouldn't he keep that bag w/him at ALL times? That just seems a no-brainer! And last, they didn't keep any eye on Tahoe ? I mean come on, he and his uncle almost killed the group and threw Val to the zombies and you aren't gonna watch that guy 24/7? Sorry, didn't make sense! GL to Ms Peebles :)

Had they all continued as books, then I would consider higher stars. Not when they get chopped into novellas after the first book. Hate that.

I just could not get into this book. I spent the first 100 pages going so what. I got through it not caring if I see the next book.

After hooking onto the Walking Dead I thought I might enjoy a good series of Zombie Apocalyptic chaos. Found it difficult to relate the characters, and by the end of the book wanted the Zombies to win, just to end my own misery. This series is more suited to a much younger audience.
