The Zymoglyphic Anthology

The Zymoglyphic Museum, located in Portland, Oregon, is the world's only institution devoted to the study and display of art, artifacts, and culture of the Zymoglyphic region. Its publishing arm, the Zymoglyphic Museum Press, was founded in 2009, tasked with documenting the museum as a printed book, as well as providing a literary dimension to a primarily visual art project, a metaphorical third leg to its physical and cyberspace incarnations.

The museum's press has, in the intervening decade, produced three more books and a wide variety of zines, pamphlets, and exhibition catalogs. The first part of this compendium, "Curator's Corner," gathers a selection of these smaller works together in one handy portable volume, along with archival documents relating to the history of the museum.

Visitors to the museum are sometimes inspired to create their own artistic responses to the museum, its exhibits, and artifacts. The second part of this book, "Orbital Views," showcases some of these responses in a wide variety of media - fiction, photography, essay, and more.
