Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Praise for Geronimo Stilton books:
"Lightning pace and full-color design will hook kids in a flash." -- Publishers Weekly
Children's Literature - Heather Welsh
The Thea Sisters are back together for their latest adventure in the “Geronimo Stilton Adventure” series. This time they are off to the Fire Flowers Resort in beautiful Hawaii for a hula competition. Unfortunately, the Sisters are not alone. Their rivals, the Ruby Crew, are also in town and they intend to win the competition. More importantly than the drama with the Rubies, the Sisters learn that the volcano near their resort has recently become active again. Not only could this put a damper on the competition, but someone could be seriously hurt. Will the Sisters be able to compete at all? If they do, will they be able to defeat the Rubies? Readers do not have to have read any of the other books in the “Thea” series to understand the characters because this book starts off with character profiles and a recap of how they came together. Larger font, parts of speech written in different colors, and frequent illustrations to support the text will appeal to even the most dormant of readers. While the text is written on a third grade level, the colorful word choices offer numerous opportunities to expand vocabulary. Nonfiction text features include maps that explain the geographic features of the Hawaiian Islands and footnotes with the meaning of advanced words. Reviewer: Heather Welsh; Ages 8 to 10.

Fun Fact: Nicki is gay. Her and Colette are eventually supposed to be a thing. The author's really uncomfortable about how people will react, though.
