Never tire of this album. I can't say that of many. This is the best.

I have listened to this CD many times and it just seems to get better each time around. The music is so familiar and the harmonies are out-of-this-world! It is worth EVERY penny...trust me. My favorite songs on this one are "One Of These Nights", "Witchy Woman", "Desperado", and "Best Of My Love". There's a reason why it is the best selling album of all time!

It's hard not to like The Eagles; they span so many styles, they have a perfect harmony and their songs are all fantastic. That being said, this album compiles the best of the best, and there is not one imperfect performance on it. This focuses on the band's early, country years as opposed to their straight-rock ventures of the Joe Walsh era. The only excuse you may have for not buying this is that you have all the material on the origional albums, but if you don't you have no reason not to buy this fantastic collection.

I love the Eagles (although I have never liked Hotel California) and this cd gives you everything you could want in early Eagles. EVERY song is good. And if you are an Eagles fan, EVERY song will be familiar. My personal favorite is Desperado but all are excellent.

Editorial Reviews
All Music Guide - William Ruhlmann
On their first four albums, the Eagles were at pains to demonstrate that they were a group of at least near-equals, each getting a share of the songwriting credits and lead vocals. But this compilation drawn from those albums, comprising the group's nine Top 40 hits plus "Desperado," demonstrates that this evenhandedness did not extend to singles -- as far as those go, the Eagles belong to Glenn Frey and Don Henley. The tunes are melodic, and the arrangements -- full of strummed acoustic guitars over a rock rhythm section often playing a shuffle beat, topped by tenor-dominated harmonies -- are immediately engaging. There is also a lyrical consistency to the songs, ...
