Hi! I'm Milly (AKA April Angel) I love to write sexy stories. They're usually either paranormal or contemporary with a large dose of heat. My paranormal stories can be anything from wolf-shifters (my favorites) to witches, demons and anything in between. I was born the prettiest part of the Caribbean known as the Dominican Republic. Currently, I live in New York City with my hubby, the bossy kiddo and our little dog "Needy Speedy". Don't ask.

When I'm not working some really long hours at the day job, or hanging out in the awful life-sucking invention known as Facebook, messaging my bestie in the UK or shopping with my sis Julie, then I can be found watching scary movies. Buuut when I'm not doing that, I'm usually writing because the voices won't shut up.

I am addicted to shoe shopping, chocolate (but who isn't, right?) and Dunkin' Donuts coffee.

Come by and visit me! I love to meet new readers!

    Extremely frustrating

This should of been a free "book" considering it wasn't over 90pgs.
Extremely tired of these authors selling books a chapter or two at a time.
    Please write an entire book.

When I was offered the chance to read Ms. Angel¿s newest book in

When I was offered the chance to read Ms. Angel’s newest book in its really early stages, I think this was the first draft, I was warned that it was very different from any of this author’s previous stories. I took the warning with a grain of salt because I’ve read a lot of books by this author and have come to expect them a certain way. I think I may have underestimated her. Their Second Chance was indeed different, and I’m not talking about the lack of graphic sex that readers familiar with Taiden/Angel stories have come to expect. This time, Ms. Angel focused less on the sex and more on emotions which I think she executed successfully. As the story unfolded and the depth of their hurt was revealed, Say Something by A Great Big World played on a constant loop in my head.

It's difficult to critique characters who are going through infertility issues and the strain it can have on a marriage. Their journey was just one (real) possibility of many. The lack of communication and misunderstandings felt realistic, but I liked that it didn't take them long to reach the breaking point and spill their hearts out. From the first page, even though both characters were on their way to put the seal on the end of their marriage, their connection and their love for one another was always palpable.

Ariana and Parker were a very sweet couple. They were a perfect fit for another, but along the way they forgot how to talk to each other. I could understand both of them and where they were coming from. Neither one of them was the villain here because they couldn't fathom what it felt like to be in the other person's shoes. I liked the maturity they showed in giving their relationship a second chance since they've both had time to heal and process both the good and the bad. Of course there was some drama with Ariana's mother-in-law and her views on what being a wife should have entailed.

The pacing was good as they moved through their lives. I enjoyed the dialogue during their intimate moments and when they were being honest with one another. Whether you're like the characters or you find yourself in their situation, I think the story is relatable on the emotional spectrum. I hope Ms. Angel will continue to write more stories like this that make the characters more endearing by showing this type of vulnerability and maturity.

    Sick of short stories

$.99 for an 86 page story. I suppose it could have been worse. I could have paid $2.99 or more. I love to read. I hate spending a lot of money on these little short stories or novelas. I feel like the Aurthors should have to state how many pages you are paying for. To many of these authors now are ripping the public off. I have no problem paying good money for a great BOOK! Write a book please!!

This was predictable and lacked a steady storyline. So much more could have been done with this. It was rushed through and brought more frustration than enjoyment. Even more frustrating when its discussing an area I actually know and do. Wish I had my $.99 back :(

    Just my opinion....

I was a beta reader for this book and was I blown away by the depth and knowledge that April Angel/Milly had put into this book as far as something that touches so many women's lives. At times it was like looking into my life, my heart, my pain and my happiness. It was a very good read that can at times sting your eyes and touch your heart. But above all else, it was laid out in a great format and is a very worth while read! I am looking forward to re reading the finished copy. This is a story I could read over and over again and still have the warm and fuzzies for it.

    A Beautiful Tragedy.

We all love to read stories that make us feel good and experience romance that warms our heart; but it’s rare that an author can touch on a raw and sensitive subject while still captivating their audience completely.
Their Second Chance will tear open wounds all too familiar to many couples and force those of us, who became parents easily, to count our blessings and weep for those less fortunate.
My heart bled for the torment and heartache borne from the simple longing for a child; as this powerful and emotional story told from the soul, made the destruction of their relationship and this couples suffering all too real.
Praise for April Angel and a story written with such depth and passion.

Sometimes love actually wins! Signing divorce papers would be easier if the mere sight of him didn't make her heart quicken. Her need for him reignited. It would take an act of Mother Nature herself to undo the hurt they had caused each other. Would they...could they. Can they overcome the damage of separation and loss? This novel gives hope where there was none. Love grows where loss and longing had taken up residence. I LOVE THIS BOOK!

Typically April Angel writes about a couple meeting and falling

Typically April Angel writes about a couple meeting and falling in love, we get the whole True Love thing.
We never see how they deal with the life challenges and issues. With Their Second Chance we got
struggle in spades. Then we got the rekindling of love and coping with aftermath. I typically dont read
contempary novels because I read to get in fantasy life, and this was too realistic.I read to escape
and April Angel dragged me in and made me wallow in their misery. Made me love them and root for
them. I understand more than I ever wanted to about a very touch and painful subject.

I loved it, and I was tortured  because it's so relatable. : I can't rave enough over this book. It's amazing
the depth is astounding. I loved they get their HEA, it hurt and sucks they had to go though that lol
and I was dragged along for the ride.

“A lot of people will tell you that it hurts to be without the person you love, but the truth is that it's like living with no purpose.”

Their Second Chance is a heart-wrenching story of a couple torn apart by the issue of infertility. It begins with them about to make their divorce final. However; fate has a twisted way of showing up when least expected, and a journey to a second chance begins.

One of the strengths that I loved about this story is that April Angel shows a couple learning to communicate when they had failed to do so in the past.  My heart broke for Nick and Ari. Nick is so devoted to his wife, and loves her so much. Ari is fiercely independent despite to her mother-in-law's chagrin.  Ms. Angel quickly establishes that these two are physically compatible, and at first it made me wonder if things were happening too fast. Then I realized that they've known each other for a long time. Their attraction to each other had never been the problem. As I kept reading, I felt for both characters. I liked that there are scenes with Nick and Ari not only just living in the moment, but also emotionally breaking down and then struggling to get on the same page.

It's not easy when a couple hits this type of bump in their marriage, and everyone deals with this situation in their own way. Although I would have loved for more details with certain things, I appreciate that the author clearly focused on Nick and Ari working out their problems. I think Ms. Angel did a wonderful job describing the feelings of pain, helplessness and devotion to come across as authentic as possible.  Whether you've been in the same boat or not, this story will tug at your heart.  *A complimentary copy was gifted to me, and this is my honest review.

I was intrigued by the premise of this story, and I was sucked in from the very first page.

The problems surrounding Ari and Nick are very real, very "this is what normal people go through," as opposed to some other novels with unrealistic and petty problems.  ESPECIALLY the mother-in-law.  I don't want to spoil anything, so that's all I will say on that point!

The back-story of Nick and Ari is very touching.  Their unconditional love for each other, even as they are on the threshold of divorce, makes it even more so.

The crisis that presented itself towards the end was very gripping.  I worried and feared right along with all of the characters involved.

All in all, I liked it!  I can't wait to read more by April Angel!

This story just felt real.  Its level of authenticity really makes the entire book.  One of the things I appreciated the most was that despite how close these two people are a couple, they still can’t read each other’s minds.  It takes communication to make a relationship (of any kind) work.

While many things were predictable, some things weren’t – such as what exactly strands them in a room together forcing them to hash out their issues.  I loved the characters, and how they were consistent throughout the story.  I didn’t like Nick’s attitude about his mother in the beginning, but really liked how that whole thing played out.  Even the predictable things (and people) were so strong that it made a major impact.

The ending is super cute and sweet, and as I knew I would, I cried many times throughout the book, including at the end.  It’s a highly emotional book that is a fast read even though it’s tough because it’s just so heartbreaking at times.

Their Second Chance will take you through some tissues, especially if you can personally relate to the trials of conception.  It’s sweet, fun, and will have you on the edge of your seat as you finish it in one sitting unable to put it down!

    Is love enough?

OMG! This is my favorite April Angel book yet! It brought tears to my eyes, had me frustrated with the evil Mother-in-Law, but there were still a few chuckles in there too! If I wasn't on pins and needles wondering about all the possibilities of something going wrong, I was fighting right along side Ari and Nick for things to go right. This book was a little different from previous AA books, but a great kind of different - there was more character development and while the hot sex scenes weren't as frequent, the ones that were there were still HOT! And now a bit to get you hooked...

After 5 wonderful years together Ari and Nick decide to have a baby. Failed attempt time after time leaves Nick feeling like a sperm donor instead of the loving caring husband he used to be. Each time Ari takes a test and it is negative he has no idea how to comfort her. Their communication and open and honest friendship side of their marriage deteriorates... until Ari gets pregnant, but sadly four months in she miscarries. This takes the state of poor communications to a new high. Now it is 7 years into their marriage, they've been separated for almost 2 years and it is time to sign the divorce papers. At the lawyer's office, when the building literally starts coming down around them, they become trapped and the communication flow starts again. Can they make it work? Can they learn to be friends and lovers again? Give them Their Second Chance and read the story, maybe it will inspire you to give someone else a second chance too!

    Favorite passages:
    - Since the first time she’d seen him, his body had done the unbelievable—it turned her hormones and sharp mind to mush.
    - “I felt like I failed you, like I failed us when you left.”
    - “Fall, sweetheart, I’ll catch you.”
    - “You know he’d gladly put you back in bed.” “He’d gladly tie me to that damn thing!”
    - All they had was each other. And family came first. Always would.
    - Sometimes, love was enough.

This was an emotional story about second chances at love!! What would you do to have a second chance? I loved how they opened up and fought insecurities and fought for a love the still felt! This story was heart wrenching at times and I wanted to slap a certain someone but as we know, no relationship is perfect. Especially when you throw in a loss of a child and communication becomes hard with the hurt and turmoil of that loss. You must read and follow their journey and she how it all ends up!! I loved it!
