Lew Freedman is a Chicago-based sportswriter and an award-winning journalist who has worked for the Chicago Tribune, the Anchorage Daily News, and the Philadelphia Inquirer. He is the author of 28 books, including Cubs Essential and White Sox Essential. He lives in Bolingbrook, Illinois. Billy Pierce is a former MLB pitcher for the Chicago White Sox, a World Series champion, and a seven-time All-Star.
