Religion is essential to the global political alignment of nations. It has created throughout the world a system of social and political culture which has stood the test of time and is the essence behind modern political theory. Tillich acknowledges Christianity and the birth of Christ as the earliest cornerstone of what exist today. The Christian message is the most important part of western culture and Tillich's explaination is well put together. There has been an enormous amount of blood shed throughout history because of this message but the end result is a western society, a western theology of culture which has embraced peace and understanding throughout an enormous section of the world, using economic stability and social prosperity as a focal point. Was this review helpful?
