Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
There are many books that teach kids to recognize colors. This board book has a hole in the middle and each page is filled with a bagel. The bagels are covered with foods and spreads that kids will recognize and a color is associated with eachred tomato, white cream cheese, orange marmalade and even a brown toasted bagel. The whole premise is that there is no blue on a bagel. There could be if the author had chosen to spread some blueberry jam, but that is beside the point. However, it may get kids asking why isn't there anything blue to put on a bagel, so parents and caregiversprepare to have some answers ready. 2002, Grosset & Dunlop/Penguin Putnam,
