As a fan of the Love Me With Lies series, I had been anticipating the release of Thief with much excitement. I had high expectations for this book and it didn't disappoint. If you are familiar with Tarryn Fisher's writing, you know she has raised the bar for all indie contemporary writers.
Thief ties up all the loose ends for this series, and Caleb's point of view is enlightening and intense. Definitely a hard book to put down; you will devour this book in one sitting.

    Plot:

After a messy divorce, Caleb Drake is determined to fight for the love of his life -Olivia Kaspen. The bad news is that she's not longer waiting around for him, she has moved on and is happily married. Or at least that's what it seems. Once again, destiny brings these two star-crossed lovers to be honest with their feelings when Caleb finds himself in a complicated situation, in which he has to protect Olivia from a obsessive criminal on the loose.
After 10+ years, Caleb is done playing games. Thief is cutthroat and honest, but will Caleb and Olivia's relationship be still overshadow by the sins of their past? Will these two have a chance to redeem for their mistakes? Will they finally have a chance to utter all the words that went unsaid?
Buckle up and get ready to be shocked, overwhelmed, and overjoyed, all in the same ride. As per usual, you will be riding a roller coaster of emotions, this time into their final destination.

    Amazing!

I have no words right now as I am still trying to process everything, but this was heartbreakingly tragic and beautiful. I was on an emotional rollar coaster today. So many emotions. Excited, sad, devastated, happy.......and on it goes.

The first and second books in the Love Me With Lies series were great...the last one was AMAZING!  Thief brought so many lose ends together and seeing things from Caleb's POV was heartbreaking.  The twists and turns keep you on your toes....I couldn't stop reading and ended up finishing in the middle of the night.  You didn't know how it was going to end and many times I was so frustrated I wanted to scream!!!  How many times can you screw up and keep on going....you never knew for sure what the ending was going to be...you just keep hoping!

"Love is a God-given tool, she tells me.  It screws things back in place that were loose, and it cleans out all the broken pieces that you don't need anymore."  I loved this book and the series.  It brings so many different themes into the story and you still cheer for Caleb and Olivia and hate Leah until the end.  It makes your heart stop, race and jump for joy!  This series should be a must read for anyone who loves tragic, romantic, flawed love stories!!!

Caleb is divorced from Leah, she just told him his daughter is not his, and the love of his life is married to somebody else.  So all in all, things aren't great for him.  When Olivia begins leaning on him for the major events in her life he thinks that maybe there is hope for him after all.

After years of trying to fill his Olivia sized hole with other women, Caleb knows that it is either her or no one.  He would rather be alone than with someone who isn't her.

After years of their back and forth.  Loving and hating, I'm glad that Caleb decides that he is going to fight for Olivia with whatever it takes.  I wasn't a big fan of Noah, ever, but especially not in this book.  He just seemed so... self involved.  I know that Olivia loved him but it seemed more one sided in this book.  She might have loved him, but I thought that he was more in love with the idea of her.

I'm a sucker for the male POV.  And I was so glad that the series ended with Caleb telling the story.  To me, at least, it seems that everything is more real and raw coming from a man.  The intensity with which he not only wanted, but NEEDED Olivia was palpable.  I absolutely adored being inside of Caleb's head.

There were a few times, through out the series and in this book, where I wasn't sure if Caleb and Olivia belonged together or if they would end up together.  But no matter what I knew that even if it was crazy toxic for them to be together that they were inexorably connected.  There was nothing that would keep them from being drawn to the other.

I loved the way that their story ended.  Despite the tragedy that those last few pages held I think that it was the perfect ending to the story of Caleb and Olivia.

    So sad it's over...

Best triology ever! Today was the most unproductive day of work I have ever had because I could not for the life of me put this book down until I was done with it. Just like book 1 and 2 this book was so full of lies and drama and I just could not get enough of it. I was happy, I was mad, I was frustrated all in less than 24 hrs. That is when you know you have a good book in your hands. I will forever treasure this series and tell everyone who is looking for a good read to start with this series. Thank you Tarryn for finally giving us Caleb's POV and for such an amazing last book to the series!!!!

    Love it!

Tarryn Fisher is a genius! Thief was the perfect ending to this story. There were times I was literally laughing out loud! And then ugly crying, for sure! I also love that this book shows that not every story ends with a through & through HEA. She shows that life is not fair, and I like that!

This final book in the series was perfection! I loved every hear

This final book in the series was perfection! I loved every heart breaking minute of this book. I truly didn't know how it was going to play out and Fisher keeps you hanging on until the very end. What I loved the most about this book was that it was told from Caleb's POV. Everything, I mean everything comes together.

Caleb never let go of his love for Olivia and it's a battle he fought for years. What's interesting about this series is that it does take place over a course of several years, so you really see that true love can not only blind you, but make you do crazy things when you feel desperate. Despite all the insanity surrounding Caleb and Olivia's love story, it truly was beautiful. These two love each other with an extreme intensity. Even when I felt like I should have felt guilty for rooting for them, I didn't. They were so clearly meant to be together.

This series as a whole took me on an emotional roller coaster, but I loved it. It shows the ugly side of love, but also a very real perspective of how relationships can get messy. As I said above, I'm glad I read all three books in a row. The wait and the unknown would have messed me up. If you're looking to be completely consumed by a story, you must read this series. I'm so glad I finally got to it.

    Quotes:
~Lies, it sounds demented to want a woman's lies. But, Olivia loves you with her lies. She lies about how she's feeling, how she's hurting, how she wants you when she tells you she doesn't. She lies to protect you and herself.-pg 3

~"When I'm with you, every emotion I can possibly feel comes spilling out. I drown in them. I want to run to you, and I want to run away."-pg 98

~"Why are you forever comparing me to animals and shoes and food?"
"Because, I see the world in different shades of Olivia. I'm comparing them to you-not the other way around."-pg 156

~"I hate you," Leah spits. "You're still the same worthless piece of white trash you always were."
    "I don't even hate you," Olivia says. "You're so pathetic, I can't. But, don't think for a minute that I won't revive your indiscretions."-pg 259

~"I'll do whatever I have to do to protect you. I'll lie, cheat, and steal to make you okay. I'll share your suffering, and I'll carry you when you're weighed down. I'll never leave you, not even when you ask me to. Do you believe me?"-pg 270

    Great story and characters

A great three part series. This is the last of the three books. All three focus on the flawed main characters and their everlasting love for each other that spans more than a decade. Their love leads to lies, deceptions, resentment, marriages, divorce, infidelity, and confusion. Through it all Olivia and Caleb remain in love, two people who are never whole unless they are together.

A Review from Reading Books Like a Boss
"Life does not accommodate you, it shatters you. Love is mean, but it's good. It keeps us alive."

I have agonized and stressed over how in the world I was going to review this book - this wonderful beautiful book. Thief is the final book of the Love Me With Lies series, an achingly poignant series that touched me so deeply. These characters have embedded their way into my heart. Caleb and Olivia are in me so deep that I there is no way I will ever forget them.

Thief was everything I was hoping for, but nothing what I expected. I had all these crazy theories floating around in my head, few of which actually came true (thank God). Leave it to Tarryn Fisher to make to take all of my expectations and throw them out the proverbial window. This series is a testament to Fisher's writing talent and staying power in the book world. Fisher is able to make her readers truly feel connected to these fictional characters. I know I am not alone when I wonder where they are now. I wonder what they're doing at this very moment. Not many books make me feel so rooted in their fictional lives. It makes me feel a little crazy.

Like Dirty Red, Thief started out with a bang. Caleb is sitting in his condo (yes, the same condo he had during he and Olivia's relationship) watching Olivia win Dobson's murder trial. He and Leah have been divorced for a period of time at this point. Even watching Olivia on the television he is transfixed and finds everything she does beautiful and enrapturing. His love for her is so deep and so raw even after all these years.
"Olivia is a piece of art. You have to know how to interpret her, how to see the beauty under the harsh lines of her personality...She has the kind of love that can stain your soul, make you beg not to have one, just to escape the spell she's put you under. I"ve tried to break myself of her over and over, but it's pointless. I've got more of her in my veins than blood."

Thief continues Caleb and Olivia's story, chronicling Caleb's unrelenting fight for Olivia. But this time Caleb speaks. He fights LIKE A BOSS and fights dirty. In fact, his methods reminded me of how dirty Olivia was in The Opportunist when she tried to win Caleb back. I thought this was interesting and showed just how similar these two actually are. Neither of them are perfect - not even our Caleb. The stunt Caleb pulled at dinner toward the beginning of the book had my jaw dropping on the floor in absolute shock. But that the same time, I was fist pumping him and cheering him on.

Underneath all their ugly lies is this beautiful burning love and intense connection - a connection that neither of them have had with anyone else, including their spouses. You could feel the electricity and the sparks between Olivia and Caleb. They didn't even need to be talking to each other. Their silence was enough to ignite the page and make it come alive. I loved every minute of it.
"When I'm with you, every emotion I can possibly feel comes spilling out. I drown in them. I want to run to you, and I want to run away."

Despite all their jackedupness, I loved seeing them together. I loved all their "isms". I loved that they used the code word "Peter Pan" when one of them wanted to know what the other was thinking. I loved that they held onto their penny after all these years. Olivia uses to word "hook me" Caleb when she wanted one of his special hugs. I loved that llamas reminded Caleb of Olivia from when they first met under a tree. Most of all I loved how deeply Caleb GOT Olivia and Olivia GOT Caleb. After the truth came out and the lies were erased, they were finally bared to each other.
"I'll do whatever I have to do to protect you. I'll lie, cheat, and steal to make you okay. I'll share your suffering, and I'll carry you when you're weighed down. I'll never leave you, not even when you ask me to. Do you believe me?"

In true Tarryn Fisher fashion, Thief is not all sugary syrupy sweetness. There are no hearts, rainbows or unicorns. This was real life. Real life is messy. Love is messy. I appreciate how relatable this story was. Thief is an ode to first love, broken hearts and the hope for second chances.

A great ending to a great series

Wow - I think this may be my new favorite series of 2013.

The 3rd and final installment of this series did not disappoint. I really love the way Ms. Fisher set up the entire thing. You get to see everyone's side of how things were going and no matter what view you had....they were all pretty messed up.

As I may have mentioned in my review of books 1 & 2. Caleb is freaking yummy, but he is also majorly screwed up too. The victim from book 1 definitely turns out to be as flawed and messed up as the people around him and he is no longer the innocent guy that he appeared in book 1. Which is fine by me.

These characters all had so many freaking layers to them and as much as I wanted to dislike all of them I just couldn't help but get sucked in to the horror show that is their lives. I admit during this book I felt so many different emotions toward Caleb in particular. He mad me feel anger, pity, love, hate, and probably degrees of all those emotions all wrapped into one. But ultimately he made me fall for him even when he was doing things that I thought were so incredibly wrong.

I loved the ending to this book because it went along with the entire series. There was no traditional HEA. If there had been I would have been royally pissed because it would have felt like a cop-out. I think it ended just as it should have. I hope it stays that way too and the author doesn't feel the need to add additional books. Some things should be left to the imagination as to how the relationship progresses going forward.

**Spoiler-ish if you haven’t read the first two books in the series, The Opportunist & Dirty Red). This is the third book in the Love Me With Lies series & is told from Caleb’s POV. The wait for Thief was KILLER but it DID NOT disappoint. Caleb watches as Dobson’s verdict is read. He decides to take the job in London. He tries to move on but is still trying to find a way to live his life without Olivia. Thief is told in the same past/present telling as the first two books. We get to see more of Caleb & Olivia’s relationship in college. We see more of Olivia’s vulnerable/broken side. I liked how Olivia didn’t run back to Caleb every time she had issues with Noah. Going into this book I expected to fall head over heels for Noah, so I was shocked at some of the things he said to her. IMO they were UNFORGIVEABLE!! But in the end I was proud of Olivia for wanting to preserve the integrity of her marriage. Leah of course is using Estella against Caleb. One minute she’s his & the next she isn’t. No matter what Olivia & Caleb are ALWAYS there for each other when they need each other the most. I’m VERY SAD to see this series end. For me it was a bittersweet ending but I wouldn’t have expected anything else for the two of them….and of course Leah is still a royal B*&^% !!
    - “You leave him, Olivia. You leave him or this is the end.”…”The end.of. WHAT?”…”I love him.”…”More than me?”…””I don’t love anything more than I love you.”
