Eight months have wonderful quilt photos while the other months have totally unrelated photos and that is rather disappointing to me.

But there are two quilt projects--wall hangings; one called Fancy Baskets and the other called Winterfest. The two projects are well written and have a supply, cutting list and instructions that are easy to understand and follow. There are graphics to help explain the steps given. And, just in case you have forgotten how to do a particular step, there are two pages of general directions.

The calendar itself is a month per page with 1 ½ x 1 ¾ squares for each day so there is lots of room to keep track of your activities. The days even have those special ones noted such as Daylight Savings Time Begins and, of course, all the holidays.

The final page in the calendar has a biography of author, Lynette Jensen. It is always nice to learn about the quilt creator.

It is that time of year again when we all begin to look for a calendar for the New Year. When I do, I look for one that has SPACE to help me keep my busy life on track. Next, I want to have a pretty picture to look at each month. That is usually cats or quilts --- somehow they just seem to go together. If I get anything else from a calendar, I feel especially lucky. With those ideas in hand, I found a wonderful calendar for 2008. THIMBLEBERRIES CALENDAR 2008 by Lynette Jensen fills all my needs and I even get a special extra. This calendar has 1 ½ x 1 ¾ squares for each day so there is lots of room to keep me on track. The days even have those special ones noted such as Daylight Savings Time Begins and, of course, all the holidays. There is a full page color photo of a different quilt for each of the 12 months and the colors are in earth tones which fit right into my decorating scheme. Also, the photo tells you where you which book will have the instructions for making the quilt show on that page. But the best part of this calendar is that there are TWO quilt patterns provided. One is ¿Sunshine Porch Quilt¿ and the second is ¿Sugar Maple Throw¿. Each has a fabric and Supply list, cutting and block assembly directions and complete assembly and binding details. There are lots of graphics to go along with all the instructions so you won¿t get lost. And, just in case you have forgotten how to do a particular step, there are two pages of general directions. The final page in the calendar has a biography of author, Lynette Jensen. It is always nice to learn about the quilt creator. If you are looking for a calendar for yourself or a gift to give to a quilter, this is the calendar to buy.
