Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
Founded by the coauthors (and spouses) more than 25 years ago, the faith-based Thin Within program works its weight-reducing miracles through church workshops. This book explains the tenets and principles of Thin Within and helps readers identify issues that can cause us to overeat.
Publishers Weekly
This husband and wife team (Judy's a registered nurse and Arthur practices internal medicine) joins the ranks of Christian authors and publishers who combine religion and weight loss. Proclaiming that the road to weight loss is a spiritual one, and that counting calories and abstaining from sweets ultimately doesn't work, they offer a 30-day guide to "freedom from concerns about food, eating, and your body." More than a weight-loss regimen, this spiritual self-improvement program combines practical "Keys to Conscious Living" (including tips such as eat only when the body is hungry and eat when sitting down) with a spiritual message about God's love. The book is sometimes repetitive, driving home the message of God's grace on nearly every page, but the charts and probing questions will help readers track eating patterns to gain a deeper understanding of what emotional need food is trying to replace. As much a self-help volume as a weight-loss one, the book's constant accentuation on learning new habits-both spiritual and physical-will help readers seeking to find a balance in their bodies and their lives. Highly Recommended - new way of thinking about weight loss!

I read the old Thin Within, but the new version has risen to a higher level. I am a person of faith, but this book has reawakend my dedication to The Lord. It returns you to the Source of your life!

Even if you do not believe, the principles put forthe here are sueful for anyone trying to gain control over their eating habits.

A real winner - an all levels.

    Life-changing!

My weight loss had stalled trying to "diet and exercise", trying to pray my way through, asking God to reveal to me what I was doing wrong. But the first week I started reading "Thin Within", I was free! Listening to my body, listening to to the Lord. Turning my eating over to Him. Following His plan for me. Eating when I am hungry, stopping when I'm satisfied. Not only is the weight decreasing, but the Lord and I are walking more closely than ever.

I feel as though I've been set free ... after all these years of trying. Finally!
