I absolutely love this story. There is a delicate mystery woven in a fashion that is rarey seen in today's fiction. BUT. The typos are atrocious...to the point that they led to confusion. Is there any fix to this.

Cannel's characters are fully fleshed quirky people who you swear you've met once or twice in your lifetime. I really enjoyed the humor and mystery of this book that doesn't follow typical murder mystery formats. The setting provides the perfect atmosphere for the novel. I think most women can related to Ellie and what insecurities she feels upon seeing her family after a while though most of us wouldn't have hired a man to escort us to an elderly relatives home. This book is well worth reading.

I highly recommend this book. I found it to be a very fun read, both funny and mysterious. I loved all of the characters, esp. Ben, Dorcas, Uncle Merlin, and Jonas. This story had mystery, humor, atmosphere, and an unusual plot. There were some rather confusing typos which needed some deciphering, but the story was worth this minor inconvenience. I am a big reader, have read all Agatha Christie books, Sherlock Holmes, and the like, but didn't figure out "who dunnit" until the end. Clever and fun!

Just purchased the 2nd in the series Garden Path. Ms Cannell creates characters like no other. Escape to Ellies world and smile a lot.

Character development pretty good. Villain and other aspects of story were predictable. I'm assumming this is an inexperienced author, so I'm giving an extra star for effort.

Which will please all those needing a "new series". She needs an escort and then they both can get a fortune if he can write a non porno book she lose weight and both find the hidden treasure. Usual suspects this if written '14 would have had receipes like an asparagrus mousse and a pate spread will send you to a cook book mom
